Game Director for the highly-anticipated Monster Hunter: World action-RPG, Yuya Tokuda, recently shared information on the game’s campaign length.
Monster Hunter: World – It’s Next Month!
Revealed in an interview with online outlet mein-mmo.de, the director stated that “Depending on the type of player, I suppose it will take about 40 to 50 hours to clear the story”.
And then goes on to say: “But it wouldn’t be a Monster Hunter title if there wasn’t content to enjoy post-game. Players can continue to forge and upgrade their favorite weapons and armor after the story is over.”
Furthermore, we learn of an exciting bit that also expands on a previous announcement of the game receiving free post-launch content: “Not only that! We will also put out weekly event quest and free updates that players can enjoy post-launch.” said Kaname Fujioka, Executive Director and Art Director for Monster Hunter: World.

I think it’d be interesting if you had to follow visual cues (tracks and broken shit) on your own but if the design allows for it, then like you said, don’t use it. =] Thanks for the info.

Uh, do you mean the scoutflies? They lead to points of interest in the environment. Some of those points are tracks left by monsters. Interact with the tracks to level up the scoutflies and they will lead you to more tracks. Keep doing that, and they will level up again and take you to the monster. Once you encounter the monster, it will be always on your map and you can tell your scoutflies to lead you there.
Or, if you don’t want to use them, just don’t interact with the monster tracks and don’t tell them to take you to the monster.
They are new the series. Before it was just wander aimlessly around the map until you found the monster, and then tag it with a paintball so it’s on your map.
It looks awesomely epic.
Not a fan of follow the glowing light, I was under the impression you had to follow the environment. Is that new to the series?
I did not know we wouldn’t need ps plus… I think I’ma have to play it now, right? ^^
