Monster Hunter World Iceborne Raccoon City and All-New Horizon Zero Dawn Collaboration Event
Collaboration events return to Monster Hunter World this November as Capcom announce the dates for upcoming Raccoon City which will add new event quests featuring a Resident Evil 2 theme including some zombie goodies. There is also Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds on PS4 which fits the frosty Iceborne expansion pretty well.
Raccoon City Collaboration
Leon, Claire and Tyrant will be paying a visit to Iceborne for the Raccoon City collaboration, which will start on November 7th at 4PM PT for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. This special collaboration will allow hunters to gain materials from completing the event quest for those who are Master Rank 20 or above. You can craft Leon α+ and Claire α+ layered armor sets and three Raccoon City themed pendants including a jiggly piece of tofu.
Other rewards for completing the event quest include two new gestures, one allowing you to shuffle around like a zombie, and other will let you bite nearby monsters dealing damage as you sink your teeth in.
There will also be some decorations for Your Room, available to add a touch of Raccoon chic to your home. These include the iconic typewriter which just like RE2, let’s you save game progress, and an item box to store your stuff. You can also visit your friend’s rooms, which was a feature added with the last MHW update.
And if that wasn’t enough, you can also purchase the paid DLC costume to turn The Handler into a the Tyrant. The Handler’s Terrifying Tyrant DLC will turn the Handler into the trench-coat who will accompany you on quests, prepare meals at camp and appear in cut-scenes.
Weapon Design and Palico Gear Content Winners
The winners who designed some amazing looks for Iceborne weapons and Palico gear were unveiled last month at New York Comic-Con. This include the Black Eagle Charge Blade by “sheep”, featuring black feathers which open into a wing-like shape when you change your sword into axe mode. There was also the Felyne Wiggle α+ Palico gear by “Zyralynn_art” who made an inspired look for Palicos. The winning designs can be crafted by Iceborne players using materials gather from the two new quests on November 7th at 4pm onward.
Horizon Zero Dawn The Frozen Wilds Collaboration on PS4
This event is exclusive to PS4 players which adds Aloy of the Frozen Wilds to Hoarfrost Reach. The first round of the collab will commence on November 21st, giving those with MR24 or more, the chance to craft a Light Bowgun following the theme of Aloy’s Stormslinger Prototype. The quest will grant players special materials needed to craft the Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds equipment. There is also a Pendant look based on Aloy’s Focus, that can be added to your favourite weapon upon completing the quest.
The end of the year still had some free content updates to look forward to, as a new monster will soon be revealed, adding further challenges to Iceborne. There will also be the return of the Monster Hunter’s seasonal fests, taking over the hub area, letting players access all previously released event quests, limited bounties for unique items and more. For the first time since the expansion launch, both Astera and Seliana Gathering Hubs will be a host to these fests.
The new rounds for the Horizon Zero Dawn: Frozen Wilds collab will be available for Playstation 4 Players in December, adding more free content and event quests. You will also get chances to craft new themed gear. Build a full armor set based on the Shield-Weaver armor from Horizon Zero Dawn and take part in event quests to upgrade the Stormslinger weapon. Hunters will also get time to craft the new Banuk armor set and have access to quests to upgrade Aloy’s Bow and Felyne Watcher equipment. Capcom have stated more updates will be coming in 2020 with info to be shared later.
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne is currently available on Playstation 4 and Xbox One. It will launch on PC on January 9th 2020.
