Monster Hunter Wilds announced an open beta for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC later this October, with PlayStation Plus subscribers getting early access.

During a special live stream, Capcom revealed that Monster Hunter Wilds, the latest entry in its popular action-RPG saga, will launch on February 28 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

At this event, they revealed that the game will have an open beta on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC this month, although the dates will vary depending on whether you have a PlayStation Plus subscription or not.

When Can You Play The Open Beta?

The open beta for Monster Hunter Wilds will begin on PS5 on October 29 for PlayStation Plus subscribers, who can play until October 31.

  • Non-PlayStation Plus Subscribers: October 31 at 8:00pm PT – November 3 at 6:59pm PT*
• Xbox Series X|S**: October 31 at 8:00pm PT – November 3 at 6:59pm PT*
• Steam: October 31 at 8:00pm PT – November 3 at 6:59pm PT*

Those who do not have a PS Plus subscription can access the beta from November 1 to November 4. This second phase will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with cross-platform multiplayer included.

This open beta of Monster Hunter Wilds will have three parts: character creation (which can be transferred to the final game if purchased), a story mission that will serve as a tutorial, leading players to hunt Chatacabra, and a free hunt mission for Doshaguma.

The usual arsenal of Weapons is expected, with some limited armor selections.

Monster Hunter Wilds launches on February 28, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, and will include Standard, Deluxe, and Premium Deluxe editions across all platforms.

The Deluxe Edition features the Monster Hunter Wilds base game and the Deluxe Pack, which includes a variety of cosmetic DLC, such as Hunter Layered Armor and sticker sets.

The Premium Deluxe Edition includes the Monster Hunter Wilds base game, the Deluxe Pack, a Premium Bonus available upon launch, a Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 coming in Spring 2025, and Cosmetic DLC Pack 2 planned for Summer 2025.

Pre-orders of any edition will include the bonus “Guild Knight Set” Hunter Layered Armor and “Hope Charm” Talisman. Additionally, pre-orders made through the PlayStation Store will also include a Digital Mini Art Book.

Participants in the beta will receive several rewards: a pendant for Monster Hunter Wilds and a set of consumable items that includes the following: Mega Potion × 10, Ration × 5, Lifepowder × 5, Max Potion × 2, Herbal Medicine × 2, Nulberry × 2, and Armor Sphere × 5.
