Capcom and TiMi Studio Group have announced Monster Hunter Outlanders, a new free-to-play open-world action and survival title set in the Monster Hunter universe.

It will be available on iOS and Android with a microtransaction model, and although there is no specific release date, it’s confirmed that there will be some testing phases before its launch.

Players will be able to explore an interconnected map with different biomes like forests, swamps, and deserts. It’s the Monster Hunter experience fans love, but adapted for the capabilities and controls of modern mobile devices. Players can also use the environment and exploration mechanics to gain advantages in combat, gather resources to craft equipment, and upgrade weapons.

You can play solo alongside your Felyne companion or team up with up to three friends. Monster Hunter Outlanders will also feature other companions who will join you on missions to help gather top-tier materials; in fact, throughout the adventure, players will encounter various unique characters who can also become playable allies.

“While it retains the core gameplay experience of the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Outlanders has optimized its battle system to maximize fun. Face monsters using the series’ traditional weapons,” say the creators about this version designed for touch controls.
