An Xbox Showcase will be happening this month, Microsoft already confirms no Starfield.
Microsoft Xbox Showcase Happening January 25th
The Xbox showcase will be happening this January 25th titled “Developer_ Direct”. It will show off Xbox Game Studios’ lineup of new games across Xbox, Windows PC and Game Pass for 2023.
So far the only games confirmed are ZeniMax’s The Elder Scrolls Online, Arkane Studio’s Redfall, Mojang’s Minecraft Legends and Turn 10 Studios’ Forza Motorsport. Missing from this lineup is the highly anticipated sci-fi RPG Starfield which will be getting its very own presentation at another time. There has yet to be an announcement of the exact release date for the game, but Bethesda has reaffirmed it will be releasing sometime in the first half of this year.

For the Elder Scrolls Online, Zenimax have already confirmed that an ESO Global Reveal Event will be happening at 12:45 PM PST/3:45 PM EST. This should be unveiling what’s next for the MMORPG. Last year followed the theme of the Legacy of the Breton which had the expansion High Isle, a new addictive mini-game Tales of Tribute, new companions and more. Hopefully, we’ll be getting to see where we’ll be going in the next chapter and maybe a new class? Of course, you will have to watch the live showcase to find out but it’s teased it will be “game’s biggest update this year”.
How to Watch the Xbox Showcase
If you’re eager to watch the showcase live, you can watch the stream from the official channels such as Twitch and Youtube, as well as Bethesda’s Twitch and Youtube channels. The showcase will be streaming on Wednesday 25th January at 12:00 PM PTS/3:00 PM EST.
It’s still unknown the length of the overall presentation for the Developer_Direct. Microsoft has promised “more gameplay, and exciting new details” for Forza Motorsport. There will also be an “insider’s look into the PvP multiplayer experience” for Minecraft Legends. Redfall’s open world will be getting a peek into combat, customisation, bosses and more.
There are still a few projects fans are awaiting to hear from such as Avowed, Everwild, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, State of Decay 3, The Outer Worlds 2, as well as reboots Fable and Perfect Dark. However we may have to wait until major gaming conferences such as E3 for further updates.
