How to Find Kulve Taroth

The gold dressed elder, Kulve Taroth, has appear again in the New World. Players must be Hunter Rank 16 or higher to be able to find Kulve Taroth’s tracks out in the world. They will have to load up Expeditions and Optional Quests in order to find some tracks akin to how Deviljho was introduced. Gather them up then report your finding to the Commander to advance the storyline. I suggest heading to Ancient Forest in quadrant 1 for a quick track.

After that, the special Investigation Quest Kulve Taroth can be played solo or up to 4 players. It can only be taken from the quest counter in the Gathering Hub! All hunters in the same Hub/lobby are investigating the same single Kulve Taroth! Get as many players in 1 single lobby hunting this monster.

Kulve Taroth Special Investigation: Banquet in the Earthen Hall

To complete this special investigation, players will need to gather Kulve Taroth’s tracks, and destroy her body parts. All hunters in the Gathering Hub should use some of the following skills to help them in the quest.

For tracks (Optional)

  • Scholar
    • Speed up progress levels and Special Investigations. (Level 1)
  • Scenthound
    •  50% faster Gauge fill rate. (Level 1)

For parts (Paramount)

  • Part Breaker
    • Deals 10%, 20%, and 30% more damage for rank 1, 2, and 3 respectively

For faster transporting (Optional)

  • Pro Transporter
    • Increases movement speed while transporting and reduces downtime on landings.  (Level 1)
      • Lets you move cannonballs faster.
For the heat
  • Cool Drinks
  • Heat Guard (same effect as a cool drink but permanent)
    • Provided by the armors: Barnos chest A and B, and Lavasioth A
For cannons (optional)
  • Heavy Artillery
    • Increases the firepower of ballistae and cannons
      • Deals 10% and 20%more damage for rank 1, 2, and 3 respectively

Overall investigation progress for Kulve Taroth will be kept even if players fail the quest by carting. Special rewards can be awarded from Kulve Taroth’s golden armor. The more players progress in the investigation allows the quality and quantity of rewards to be improved. Hunters will successfully complete the quest once they have destroyed Kulve Taroth’s large horns. This is not a kill mission, your role is to heighten the pursuit meter so your team will have an easier time with the breaking of parts. All members will obtain rewards based on their accomplishment rates. Below are some things to keep in mind:

  • Players can join a Kulve Taroth quest from the quest counter’s Ongoing Quests list.
  • Players can’t launch SOS flares during the quest.
  • Unable to use Lucky Vouchers during the quest.
  • Pursuit Levels from all hunters of the Gathering Hub/lobby will be combined into the investigation level.
    • As levels increase, players are awarded more time before the quest ends in failure. This allow more time accumulate more points thus raising the probability of success.
  • Reward Level raises based on points the team gained from completing certain tasks.
    • Higher Reward Level will award the team with better quality rewards.
  • Reduced points can be obtained from fellow teams if they completed an Accomplishment Task
    • When your team accomplishes that task, full Accomplishment points will be awarded.
  • When the investigation is successfully completed the PursuitLevels and Accomplishment Rates will be reset to their initial amounts in this case.
  • Returning to the Gathering Hub will only net you rewards based on the Accomplishment Rate earn at the time of departure.

New Golden Kulve Taroth’s Weapons

There will be new Relic weapons that are dressed in gold that resemble their non gold counterparts. Some of the gold weapons as sealed weapons which need free element to make use of their element or use non elemental boost to bolster the innate raw damage. All relic weapons have increased defense ranging from +20 to +40. These Relic weapons will need to be appraised to reveal what they are. These weapons will greatly help newer players as they are mostly stronger versions of lesser weapons but for those who are late in the end game its another Elder Dragon type of farm hoping you get what you want.

There are 3 tiers of weapons:

  • Melded
  • Dissolved
  • Sublimated
