Mass Effect Andromeda Releases New Cinematic Trailer Showing NPCs, Story and Enemies

As promised, BioWare has released a new cinematic trailer for Mass Effect Andromeda. Check it out below:

The trailer starts with a look at a world called Habitat 7, a potential new Earth for the 20,000 souls who have made the journey to the Andromeda Galaxy. We see shots of the Nexus station and arks and get a look at the Tempest as it encounters a hostile antagonist named the Archon. We get looks at some of main character Ryder’s squadmates Peebee, Liam, Cora and Drack as well as a glimpse at a new race and the tensions that the exploreres will be encountering as well as some romance.

BioWare then released the next Andromeda Initiative briefing video which goes a little more in depth with the characters in the game:

Entertaining stuff. Mass Effect Andromeda releases March 21st for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Keep checking back for more updates!

  1. So are they ever going to show any gameplay for this game? All these cinematic trailers look nice and all, but they tell us virtually nothing about ME:A. Absolutely nothing that they have shown has gotten me even the slightest bit interested. I need details, and after ME3 and DA:I’s disappointment, all of Bioware’s benefit of the doubt is officially worn out with me.

  2. I understand that DA:I was a bit of a slog with it being weighed to heavily with repetitive side quests but I personally enjoyed it overall. Guess it could be that anything was a better improvement over DA2. Especially that final piece of DLC that definitely is setting up the next game to come no doubt. My only big gripe is the epic fights that were suppose to be the ten different dragon’s across all the locations. Like I said they are suppose to be epic and tough but they are so easy to cheese it is not even funny. Also I agree quite a bit of the party member characters were meh. I didn’t mind Cassandra as much as some but yeah she was a bit to stiff to often. Dorian, Ironbull, and Varric really the only party characters I rather enjoyed.

I’m only really hesitant with ME:A because of ME3. To me it was the weakest title not just due to the ending but because it felt like it just cut out any form of exploration out of it with it being a fairly linear story. Though the gameplay stuff among other things have erased most of the fear on the exploration stuff though I still would like to see a bit more from the gameplay side of things. Overall I will probably get ME:A.

Oh and also Funko toes revealed one of the new alien character’s names that could potentially be a party member. She/he is called Jaal:

I liked all three Mass effect games, but I could feel EA’s grip getting tighter as it went along. This is why I have a lot of skepticism for this installment. I doubt EA has learned their lesson.

  4. I don’t really know the Dragon Age games all too well tbh, so almost all of my impressions of BioWare comes from Mass Effect 1-3 which I really enjoyed. It does seem there is a lot of spillover angst coming from DA:I so that’s probably why I have a different perspective.

  5. B*tching is my middle name.

But really I do not want to excited. I hope I’m pleasantly surprised, but I ain’t gettin’ my hopes up.

after inqusition i’m not sure bio-ware remembers how to make interesting characters. the world was cool and the combat was okay but that just makes it like dark souls but worse. everyone was so dull; only iron bull and Dorian were even passable. Cassandras might as well have been a cardboard cutout. maybe the people who did character building left years ago and the current team was just piggy backing off their work?

  7. Ha I continue to be surprised by the lukewarm reaction to this game. I watched the trailer and was pretty energized by it.

  8. the companions seem annoying. at least they can’t mess up the krogan and the asari might be okay.

  9. Cinematic trailer: yaaaaaaawwwwwwnnnnnnnn

Initiative Character Introductions: Plot inconsistency. Why would they make an AI if that was almost effectively illegal after the Geth? If there something I missed? Because EDI existing was cause for concern and EDI being unshackled was like spooky. Hell EDI being kept in ME3 was only so they could put her in a sex bot.
