Lost Ark is definitely an insanely popular game. The MMO was able to reach the top of the Steam charts in its full launch opening weekend, gaining about 1.3 million concurrent players. This milestone was accompanied by the fact that they were able to secure Steam’s #2 spot as the most played game at the time. During the first 24 hours, in fact, the game’s Early Access had over 500,000 concurrent players.

Now, another eventful milestone has been achieved. Smilegate RPG and Amazon have announced that their MMORPG was able to gain over 20 million users divided across all regions that the game is available in. The Early Access Western release by itself was able to lure in 4.7 million new accounts. As of writing, the western release has more than 10 million. This number is spread across all of North America, Europe, South America and Australia.
Overall, the excitement surrounding Lost Ark from around the world is quickly gaining steam, as evidenced by the growing number of global players,” said Christoph Hartmann, VP, Amazon Games. “Together with Smilegate, we are committed to supporting the growing community with a robust roadmap of updates in the years to come.
New Twitch Prime Loot
Just like in New World, Amazon is heavily promoting their newest Action-RPG Lost Ark through Twitch Prime Loot and Twitch Drops. Previously, subscribers to Twitch Prime had access to the “Battle Item Pack” which gave players a selection of combat items to use in dungeons, as well as a Crystalline Aura and some shards.

Starting now until April 5th, players can claim the “Egg Pet Pack”. This freebie contains the same Crystalline Aura and Amethyst Shards but will now include an Egg Pet Chest. This cute little critter looks just like the Eggs of Creation on Tortoyk Island. Every month will feature a new set of Twitch Prime goodies for Lost Ark.
Things to Look Forward To
Argos and the Abyssal Raid
With all this success, it would be unwise for Amazon and Smilegate to let go of this momentum. Players are excited at the moment, grinding their way up to level 50. This lets them participate in endgame features such as Guardian Raids or Abyssal Dungeons.

However, coming this March is a new type of endgame content: the Abyssal Raids. This was previously teased upon by Amazon in a few cryptic Tweets. Arkesia once again needs help from its citizens. Events in Punika have caused the ancient Guardian Argos to wake from its slumber. It has been over 500 years since the traitor guardian last awoke and laid battle with Guardian Albion. Argos is still influenced by chaos and thus will need to be stopped in order to save Punika.
Amazon recently confirmed the requirements to face off against Argos and his three distinct encounters. Each subsequent conflict with Argos will make him grow stronger and have different mechanics tied to the fight. Players will need to be at least Item Level 1370 for the first fight, Level 1385 for the second, and Level 1400 for the last and most difficult encounter.

Lastly, players will need to have completed the Guide Quest “Abyss Raid Unlocked” and interact with the Abyss Raid Statue in all major cities to be able to face off against Argos.
More Advanced Classes, Please!
New Advanced Classes are also on the list of highly anticipated content. We did give a more comprehensive discussion on the 8 Advanced Classes missing from the Western release, but let’s go through a couple.

The Mage players should eventually gain access to the Summoner and Arcanist classes. The former was actually available back in the Lost Ark Beta back in November but was substituted last minute for the Sorceress. The Arcanist is totally new to the west. This magic class makes use of cards to deal damage and wreak havoc among her foes with randomness.
Hopefully, Amazon Games and Smilegate reveal the full roadmap for upcoming content so people know what else they can get excited for. It’s never too late to join everyone else in Arkesia.
