Lost Ark just announced its plans for the first four months of 2023. We can look forward to a new class, and more!

Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG just announced their content plans for the first third of 2023. We just got the December update that unleashed the Summoner, and November which greeted the Reaper. Before that, their roadmaps usually just detailed the next month, or three at most.

However, this time they have teased us with things to look forward to from January to April 2023. Let’s jump back in, Arkesians! Above is the Artist’s reveal video from the Korean version of Lost Ark.

Lost Ark in January

As previously teased, the Witcher x Lost Ark Collaboration is still the major highlight for January’s content drop. The update will introduce a new island (complete with oversized Witcher medallion mountain), among other things.

The highlight of January will definitely be the tons of Witcher-themed cosmetics for Lost Ark. We will be getting full outfits to make our Berserkers or Sorceresses look just like Geralt and Ciri. Players will even get Witcher-themed weapons, impractical as they may be.

Lastly, we will get new character customization options, particularly some scars. Probably more things to make us look just like Geralt.

February and the Anniversary

The second month of 2023 should definitely be a huge one for Lost Ark, considering that this marks its 1-year anniversary. Amazon and Smilegate have some events planned specifically to celebrate this milestone, but they are keeping it a secret for now.

What they did confirm for Lost Ark though is an entirely new Continent. Introducing Rowen, the next area right after South Vern. Rowen is a land just to the west of Shushire, one that was teeming with precocious crimson jewels. A sudden resurgence of these resources triggered the interest between many different opposing factions, bringing the island back to “life”.

This is not so simple, however. Two competing groups, Preigelli and Libertane, have started an all-out war on Rowen, forcing the heroes of Arkesia to choose.

Each faction has its own ideals and reason for controlling the crimson resources. The new continent will thus have PVP modes available. It will be quite tame at the beginning, until the next month…

March of the Armies

Coming in March, Lost Ark will open up the Tulubik Battlefield. This will be a huge area on Rowen that is open specifically for PVP activities. Maps will house massive 96-player battles, between two armies of up to 48. There will be tons of non-stop action in the Tulubik Battlefield, ranging from simple objective-based missions to just senseless slaughter.

Aside from that, players can expect a bunch of Quality-of-Life updates come to the March content update. We will also get access to the third Arkpass, which is sure to give us tons of honing materials and cosmetics once more.

Artistic April

Last, but not least, is the plan for April. Arguably the biggest reveal, and one quite awaited by tons of players, is that the Specialist Class will make her debut.

Starting out with the Artist Advanced Class, this support character specializes in, well, supporting her team. Much to her namesake, the Artist uses a magical brush and ink to be able to paint enemies into submission.

Just like the Bard and Paladin, the Artist will have various skills to help heal allies, shield them, or give them enhanced damage. What makes her truly unique is her visually distinct art (heh) style, being quite flashy to watch in combat.

The Specialist’s other Advanced Class, which will come much much later, is called the Aeromancer.

Also coming out in April is the Brelshaza Hard Mode. The normal mode is already quite tough to beat, and the Hard Mode promises to up the ante even more. Players will be required to be at least item level 1540 to start the raid, and up to 1560 to attempt the last two gates. Another Guardian Raid, Hanumatan, will also be introduced into the April Content Update.

Looking Forward to Lost Ark

Amazon Games and Smilegate still have tons of tricks up their sleeves. We can definitely expect February to be one of the bigger celebrations, even though they haven’t revealed too much info. It is unfortunate that the Artist will be coming in April – 2 months after the anniversary. This is somewhat of a missed opportunity to bring back players, especially since this is one of the highly anticipated support classes.

Be sure to look back as well with us with the previous June & July and August & September roadmaps.
