Lost Ark just announced their content plans for August and September.
Lost Ark Details August and September Content Roadmap
It’s good to see that the Western release of Lost Ark hasn’t lost steam despite it being almost 6 months since the game’s release in the west. Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG are both hard at work at bringing us up to speed with the Korean version of the MMORPG.
The June and July updates brought us many new things to play with, such as the Arcanist Class (guide for this, here!), the Vykas Legion Raid, a range of new cosmetics, and more. Even better, the game introduced tons of catchup mechanics for current, new, and existing players in the form of honing buffs and express passes.
This time, it looks like August will slow down just a tad to give players chances to take down Vykas and Valtan more effectively. The Amazon Games team has decided that they are splitting things up instead of one massive release per month. Instead, we will get a total of three patches in the upcoming months. August will bring about small updates and new events, followed by more Quality of Life updates in mid-September, only to close the period out with a huge update by the end of that month. Let’s have a look now, shall we?
Lost Ark August Updates
As mentioned, August will be pretty tame in the grand scheme of things. Pets in Lost Ark don’t really have much personality or interactivity. They’ve been relegated to literally loot magnets, scooping up all of the items that most ARPG players would have to click through. Considering the number of materials that drop in Chaos Dungeons, these little critters are a cute godsend.
While they do offer more functionality, like portable mailboxes and access-anywhere storage, that’s all there is to this. You could never actually pet your pet.
Coming in August is the new Pet Ranch. Travelers of Arkesia can now finally play with their pets. Here, players can “recover their pets’ morale” (which likely means they can now cuddle up to these creatures), and more.
The Maharaka Festival will also get new activities aside from its water gun fights that spawn every couple of hours. One of the daily quests had players strike a pose in front of the legendary Maharaka Tree on the event island. Now, they will be able to collect the magical leaves from the tree and exchange them for various goodies.
Quality of Life and the Backend
Early September will bring us up to speed with some of the Quality of Life changes that were recently brought into the Korean servers. This is a welcome surprise, considering how quickly they’re getting implemented. These changes were just announced in the Lost Ark Summer showcase last June.
Some of the key changes include the addition of a Global Chat Room, and cross-server interactions (including, but not limited to visiting other Servers’ strongholds or adding friends from different realms). There will also be some new hairstyles for those who want to look their best while roaming Arkesia.
The team will also be implementing some backend changes in preparation for the next update…
Server Merges, the Machinist, and the Kakul-Saydon Legion Raid
The Server Merge
Early in its Western release, Lost Ark achieved a monumental number of players. It even became one of the most played games ever on Steam, reaching a peak of 1.3 Million Players. The huge boom in player base prompted the creation of a new region entirely, Europe West. As things stabilized, certain worlds started needing more players. The Late September Lost Ark update will include some server merges to help remediate the population concern. No specifics on this have been shared just yet.
Next up is the introduction to the Machinist, one of the missing advanced classes in the Western Release. Named “the Scouter” in other regions, the Machinist is able to rain down bullets onto his foes. Hailing from Artethine is this highly advanced Gunner class.
He makes use of various machine guns, drones, and a high-tech Iron Man-Esque Hypersync Suit that turns him into mobile artillery. The Machinist is definitely a fan favorite in Lost Ark because of this.
Kakul-Saydon Legion Raid
Coming as well in this patch is the 3rd Legion Commander Raid for the West, Kakul-Saydon. Instead of requiring 8 players, this Legion Raid will need only 4 heroes participating. That doesn’t mean he will be a pushover, however, as this encounter is quite difficult. It is so challenging, in fact, that it doesn’t have a Hard Mode version like Valtan and Vykas.
Kakul-Saydon instead will have a Rehearsal Mode that can be attempted by item level 1385 players to better prepare themselves for the encounter’s mechanics. Normal Mode Kakul-Saydon will require players to be at or above item level 1475. The raid itself will have 3 gates.
Back to School
To look their best while facing off the Demon Commander of the Mayhem Legion, new cosmetics are being added to the store. As summer comes to a close, it is high time for students to don their uniforms once again. This patch will introduce some hoodies, sweaters, and some private school uniforms.
Even heroes of Arkesia are not too cool for school.
Lost in the Lost Ark
It’s good to see that Lost Ark is still getting ample support from the developers and publisher. It’s even better seeing that the changes and updates we see are in line with our region’s requirements and requests instead of literally following how things were done in Korea.
