Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino teases an MMORPG-scale game, with a modern day setting

A new game has been teased by Level-5‘s CEO, Akihiro Hino. He says that the studio’s next game will have a “modern day” setting, rather than a fantasy one. It will have an ambitious scale, similar to that of a massively multiplayer online role-playing game.

Level-5’s next game will be huge and have a modern day setting

Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino spoke about the new game in the latest instalment of 4Gamer.net‘s interview series Harada Kills (via Gematsu).

“We do have an idea. I’m not sure if we can call it an MMORPG or not, but [we’re planning] to make a big title on the same scale as one.” – Akihiro Hino

He explained that the new game won’t be released this year However, they wanted to make the announcement in 2018 to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary. Similarly, Level-5 announced Ni no Kuni in celebration of its 10th anniversary.
