  1. I love “Simple and Clean!” It’s nice that you’re a fellow Kingdom Hearts fan, ckmishn. Have you played the spin-offs or just the core 3 titles?

I remember being quite impressed with what they managed to squeeze out of the Gameboy Advance with Chain of Memories.

  2. Watched the new trailer and it looked amazing. The new theme, “Don’t ThinkmTwice”, is descent as well.

Of course, after listening to the new theme I had to listen to the original…Then the tears started flowing 😢. I know there’s actually a lot of people who cry when listening to it, and in most cases I don’t get it. The song, “Simple and Clean”, sung by Utada Hikaru (the singer of the new theme and “Sanctuary” from KH2), isn’t a sad one. Maybe it’s the relatively sad ending to the original game, with Riku and Mickey trapped in the darkness, that brings the tears, though they’re reunited in KH2.

In my own case I find the song sad because of a happy memory: I had told the woman I was dating (and would eventually marry) that I was interested in Kingdom Hearts, and that it was the only reason I was thinking of getting a PS2. That X-mas, despite making little money, she bought me both the game and the PS2 to play it on. She’s gone now, and it’s one of the ironies of losing someone that it’s the the happiest memories that are some of the saddest (conversely it’s some of the sad memories, particularly of the pain of her last few years that, if not happy, at least being the comfort of knowing they’re over).
