Now that we know to expect Kingdom Hearts 3 in 2018 for the PS4 and Xbox One, fans can rest easy in the knowledge that it’s coming out soon. With that in mind, players are now starting to turn their attention to what the game is going to be all about. The Kingdom Hearts series has always featured iconic locations, Keyblades, and characters that have made it a memorable adventure. Kingdom Hearts 3 will be no different. Kingdom Hearts 3: Everything We Know on Story, Locations, Keyblades & Characters
Kingdom Hearts 3 Story
The game takes place after the events of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, with King Mickey and Riku hunting after the remaining Keyblade wielders. Sora, Donald and Goofy, on the other hand, are busy in pursuit of the Seven Guardians of Light across a myriad different worlds. All of this is being done in a passionate attempt to stop Master Xehanort’s evil plan to balance light and darkness first alluded to in previous games.
Kingdom Hearts 3 Locations
The game will feature the usual variety of iconic locations from Disney movies. You’ll be utilizing the environment to propel yourself to an area that you’re not normally able to go to, even doing things like running up a cliff during battle. Those can be expected in each of the different worlds you’ll be traversing through. They won’t be hiding any worlds prior to release. DLC has not been confirmed, but they are prepared for it as a possibility.

Kingdom Hearts 3 Summon Attacks
The game features a mechanic called Attraction Flow, which behave in practice like summon attacks and let Sora conjure up some powerful attacks. The attacks revealed so far are as follows:
- Mad Tea Party
- Big Magic Mountain
- Pirate Ship
- Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
Kingdom Hearts 3 Keyblades & Transformations
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Kingdom Hearts game without Keyblades! Many are certain to appear in the game, and these are the ones we’ve seen so far:
- Toy Story Keyblade: Shaped like a cactus with a Buzz Lightyear handle theme. The cactus features Woody’s hat and badge and a claw game alien dangles from the keychain.
- Master Xehanort’s Keyblade
- Trailer Keyblade
- Master’s Defender Keyblade
- Kingdom Key Keyblade
- Hercules Keyblade
Keyblades will now have Keyblade transformations that are unlocked by clearing all missions in one of the worlds. Each world has its own unique transformation. There are 2 forms each Keyblade can take, with the second obtainable by connecting combos. The transformations shows so far are as follows:
- Guard Form into Counter Shield
- Hyper Hammer into Drill Punch
- Double Arrowguns into Magic Launcher
- Rocket Launcher
- Large Sword
- Pegasus with Chariot
Kingdom Hearts 3 Characters
Sora is the main playable character, and up to 5 additional characters can join the party, which is way up from the 2 in the past games. Another playable character other than Sora will be available later in the game, rumored to possibly be King Mickey. These are the cast of characters we know will be in the game, note that not at all are part of the playable roster.
