The Iron Banner event is now live for Destiny today and will remain active until the reset next Tuesday, October 11th. For those new players, The Iron Banner is a limited time PvP Crucible event with level advantages enabled, meaning that weapons with higher Light do more damage, armor with higher light resist more damage, and Guardians whose light level is higher take less damage from those whose light level is lower. Success grants access to some exclusive rewards The banner activity has been retooled for the Rise of Iron expansion with the following details:
Iron Banner Changes
- The Tempered mechanic is gone – play when you want
- There are now 4 Weekly Bounties
- Bounty rewards include:
- An Iron Banner item not featured on the Vendor
- A chance at an Iron Banner Artifact or Vanity Item
- 25 Legendary Marks
- 750 Iron Banner Reputation
- Victory in a match grants 250 Reputation
- Iron Medallions grant 150 Reputation each, upon Victor

Would absolutely love to have it. If you want to make it a proper review for the expansion now that it’s been out for a bit we can make it so!
If you want that impression article I’m still working on it… If not that is understandable. I’ve just have been rather busy with college and I spaced on the article…
Now to the Iron Banner, rather entertaining though it is the shotgun meta now but after the long reign of snipers I can live with shotguns for a bit. Good way to level up for some, drops seem to be higher and ranking the IB rank doesn’t feel as tedious as previous IBs. Helped me hit 380, now if only I could get the shader and ghost to drop for me that would be great.
Also, great place to get those elusive Ghosts and Artifacts!
