Today Ninja Theory announced Hellblade: Senua’s Psychosis, a 25 minute feature included in their upcoming game Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrfice about their collaboration with neuroscientists and people with lived experience of psychosis. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is coming to the PS4 and PC on August 8th.
Hellblade: Senua’s Psychosis Teaser
You can see a teaser for the feature here:
From the makers of Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and DmC: Devil May Cry, comes a warrior’s brutal journey into myth and madness. Set in the Viking age, a broken Celtic warrior embarks on a haunting vision quest into Viking Hell to fight for the soul of her dead lover. Created in collaboration with neuroscientists and people who experience psychosis, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will pull you deep into Senua’s mind.
The teaser is a welcome addition for those who are interested in the authenticity behind the game’s development, as it pertains to psychosis and neurological disorders, which are topics very rarely touched on in gaming.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is available for pre-order now. PS4 pre-orders will receive an exclusive Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice Dynamic Theme that depicts the iconic burning tree scene from the game. Those pre-ordering on PC will receive an exclusive digital comic short, Hellblade: Senua’s Song.
Last week we saw the release of 10 minutes of the game’s visceral gameplay as well as an eerie new story trailer that helped shed some light on the game’s backstory and the challenges that await Senua. You can also check out our preview for more.
