Hades 2 receives its Olympic Update. Supergiant Games’ title gets its biggest update yet with a brand-new region, more characters, and new weapons.

Hades 2 Olympic Update

Hades, a must-play title that was released in 2020 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, PC, and even iOS mobile devices.

Following in the footsteps of that GOTY (Game of the Year), Hades 2 was released in early access in May of this year, generating great excitement with its initial Windows version—enough to break records.

After outlining its roadmap for the full release, the first major update for Hades 2 is now here, with a series of new content that completely revitalizes the game and promises to delight fans.

All New Features

Hades 2’s Steam page has launched the update, which is now available to all users eager to enjoy its new features.

To begin with, The Olympic Update adds the new Mount Olympus region. Previously, players only had the path from Erebus to Tartarus, but now there’s a setting that offers challenges for the most skilled players.

Also introduced is a new weapon, Xinth: the Black Cloak, the last of the Shadow Arms, along with adjustments to the special attacks of all the weapons that were already available in the previous version of Hades 2.

Xinth allows for blocking and counterattacks and incorporates a series of special combos that damage all enemies. Everything suggests it will become the favorite weapon for Supergiant Games RPG fans.

The story of Hades 2 also expands: in addition to adding many hours of dialogue, the plot takes an unexpected twist once you reach the new region of Mount Olympus.

New characters join the story, including two allies who will offer their support if you help them. Additionally, two new Familiars—beastly companions—can be found to assist you.

Gameplay changes include more Seals and Monuments, the ability to recycle resources for Prestige, and a series of options that enrich and simplify the experience.

Along with game support for Mac and many more adjustments and fixes, the update teases new content planned for 2025.

This next major update will focus on the game’s third region and will also come with more weapons, new enemies, and a multitude of surprises.

With Princess Melinoë as the new protagonist facing off against Chronos, Hades 2 has yet to announce its final release date, but everything suggests it will be around the last quarter of 2025.
