God of War Ragnarok Will Be Compatible with PS5 Pro

God of War Ragnarok reveals that the game is compatible with PlayStation 5 Pro enhancements, pending confirmation from Sony or Santa Monica Studio themselves.

God of War Ragnarok Will Be Optimized for PS5 Pro

Good news ahead of the PS5 Pro launch, Sony’s new console model. Remember, the console arrives in stores on November 7, 2024, with PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution) technology as its standout feature.

Between 40 and 50 PS5 games will be compatible with PS5 Pro enhancements at launch, though the list will grow significantly over time.

Titles such as Hogwarts Legacy, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, The Last of Us Part II Remastered, Gran Turismo 7, Alan Wake 2, and Horizon Forbidden West have already been confirmed. Recently, others like Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred and No Man’s Sky have also joined the lineup.

It’s expected that PlayStation’s major exclusives, like God of War Ragnarok, will also adopt PSSR enhancements to offer improved resolutions and an increase in frames per second.

Pending confirmation from Sony or Santa Monica, God of War Ragnarok will be among the games compatible with PS5 Pro enhancements.

Official Listing on the PlayStation Store

According to God of War Ragnarok’s listing on the PS Store, the Santa Monica game is compatible with PS5 Pro and its PSSR technology, although we had not yet heard any official word on this.

Thus, PS5 Pro players will enjoy one of PlayStation’s major exclusives in the best possible conditions, simply by updating the version of God of War Ragnarok they already have installed.

The game’s listing includes the “Enhanced for PS5 Pro” label, although the specific enhancements for Kratos and Atreus’ adventure on Sony’s new machine are not detailed.

Since God of War Ragnarok already reaches 60 FPS in some of its graphical modes, it’s likely that PSSR technology will help the game maintain that performance while boasting native 4K resolution.

We might even get ray tracing effects, although it’s important to note that ray tracing is not a mandatory requirement for a PS5 game to carry the PS5 Pro label.

Until then, the best version of God of War Ragnarok is still on PC. Otherwise, you can enjoy the game in optimal conditions on both PS5 and PS4.
