From Sucker Punch Productions, the creators of the highly-praised Infamous franchise, comes their brand-new and upcoming IP, Ghost of Tsushima.
Ghost Of Tsushima – Your Way of the Sword
Ghost of Tsushima was one of the biggest reveals during Sony’s live press conference event at Paris Games Week 2017. It is an open-world, adventure title that is set in feudal Japan.
In a blogpost by the game’s Director Nate Fox, Ghost of Tsushima is a passion project for the studio. And was inspired by classical works such as Lone Wolf and Cub and Usagi Yojimbo.
“building the game we’ve wanted for so long to be able to play.” said Fox
The game is set in 1274 in Tsushima during the Mongol invasion of Japan. Players will take on the role of a battle-hardened samurai named Jin, in an effort to resist the invading forces.
Players will wander throughout the lush countrysides of ancient Japan, mastering their katana to become the legend known as “the Ghost”.
“The power and confidence of the Mongol Empire coming face to face with pure, lethal, samurai determination.”
The captivating images that you see as well as the trailer’s footage down below, were all captured from the game’s engine, showing the amount of care and attention to detail in recreating ancient Japan.
At the moment, Ghost of Tsushima has no release date or time frame set, suggesting that the game is still relatively early in its development. You can stay tuned to Fextralife as we’ll uncover more details on this new IP.

“We’ve invaded China,” said the Mongels. “Please respect us or else we might invade you as well.”
“Okay,” said Japan. *Sword draw sound effect*
So the Mongels came over, ready for war, and died in a tornado. Actually a Typhoon
But they tried again and had a nice time fighting with the Japanese and then died in a tornado. Actually a Typhoon
The history of japan is comedy gold
Wish there was more than just an announcement, but the concept is fascinating enough.
Plus, feudal Japan? Sign me up. Nioh was fun, if taking liberties with historical accuracy, but told a good story.
I’m hyped for this because I love everything set in my country, but I have to let everyone know beforehand… The Mongol army that ravaged Asia failed miserably at invading japan because…. They were wrekd by a typhoon BOTH times they attempted, and the tiny amount of forces that landed were quickly overwhelmed by the local lords.
So, considering this is all going to be rather fictional, still looking promising as an open world game. Will it be RPG-ish? I so hope so!
Probably the most intriguing title from the show (other than LoU 2). Can’t wait to see more about it
