The Dendro Element in Genshin Impact has been eagerly awaited by many fans, as well as the huge update 3.0 that will introduce it. It was just yesterday that we discussed how this expanded element will be affecting the Traveler and the world of Teyvat around them.Good Morning Collei However, now we get to see the other companions that will be joining our Traveler on their jungle adventure throughout the new region of Sumeru. Let’s see what the team at Hoyoverse has shared with us!

The New Dendro Characters

The official Genshin Impact Twitter account took to stage yesterday and revealed the first two playable Dendro-based characters (as well as one Electro hero, for some reason). While they told little in terms of abilities or even storyline, at least we now know what they look like!

Collei, the Sprout of Rebirth

First off is the Forest Ranger Trainee, Collei. This green-haired archer is generally optimistic, and the people of Sumeru seem to look up to her. Although she has a kind and welcoming demeanor, Collei has a dark past that she isn’t quite ready to reveal to anyone. Perhaps the Traveler will be the first one to soften her heart and get the story behind the bow?

Collei is tagged with the title of “Sprout of Rebirth”. Perhaps this is due to the fact that she is trying to overcome her past and grow from the possible failures that she has endured.

Oh, you’re going to Sumeru? Can you give my regards to Collei? Well… it’s been so long, I wonder if her hair has grown out and if she’s taller?

This ranger is also an acquaintance of Outrider Amber, one of Genshin Impact’s first companions. If you notice the on character’s waist is a ribbon that is very similar to the one that Amber wears on her own outfit.

It is assumed that Collei will be a 4-Star character since she is the student of the next one. Her constellation is called the “Leptailurus Cervarius”, which is a type of wild feline native to parts of Africa.

Tighnari, the Verdant Strider

Next is our 5-Star Character, Tighnari the Verdant Strider. This Dendro character seems to make use of the Catalyst-type weapon, though the visual just might be some bomb or other trinket. Tighnari is the protector of the forest as well as Collei’s mentor. He is patient and takes good care of her protege.

Tighnari’s design is quite unique and intricately detailed. Instead of blatantly being green to show his affinity to Dendro, he is swathed with a mixture of tones, though mostly edge on the cooler spectrum. He has a healthy mix of blues and greens, creating quite the “kind master” persona. And he seems to have some high and mighty fox ears, which is cool. It isn’t clear whether this is physically a part of him, or if this is a fancy headband.

Dori, the Treasure of Dream Garden

Announced last, but not least is Dori, an Electro-based character. Dori is a merchant who inhabits the Sumeru region, as she is dubbed the “Treasure of Dream Garden”. This feisty pink-haired character could very well pass off as Diona’s sister as they look very similar.

Dori’s costume design is quite apt for a seaside trading village that may be on the hotter side of the temperature spectrum. Her outfit is predominantly violet, much like other Electro characters such as Fischl, Kequing, Lisa, or Raiden.

Being a merchant, Dori has the unique ability to offer just the thing you may need. Of course, she’d capitalize on that opportunity and sell you that thing at exorbitant prices. Mora talks, as always, in the world of Teyvat.

It isn’t clear at the moment what rank Dori will be, nor what weapon she will choose to use. Her constellation is the “Magicae Lucerna” or Magic Lamp.

Genshin Impact While Waiting

The implementation of these Dendro characters and the Sumeru region into Genshin Impact might take a while. We’re still just going to get version 2.8, and version 2.9 is still a ways off over the horizon. We’ll just have to wait and see when we’ll be able to create some new wonderful elemental reactions in combat with the new heroes.
