Genshin Impact is still constantly getting great content additions. The newest update titled “Divine Ingenuity” will include challenging dungeons as well as the option for players to create their own.

Genshin Impact Latest Event “Divine Ingenuity” Adds Challenge Domains and Player-Made Dungeons

The more creative fans of Genshin Impact will be able to flex their imaginations in the upcoming update on March 2. Announced on March 1 in the Hoyolab was a new event. This new event is called the “Divine Ingenuity” and will give everyone the option to build their own customized dungeon challenge experience.

Divine Ingenuity will be a limited-time event that will last for about 19 days. All players who have completed the Archon Quest “Chapter I: Act III – A New Star Approaches” and have achieved Adventure Rank 28 will be able to participate.

As with any event, players will be rewarded with Primogems, Hero’s Wit, Talent Level-Up Materials, Enhancement Ores and Mora.

Genshin Impact and the Divine Ingenuity

The Adventurer’s Guild has suddenly discovered the appearance of mysterious new Domains outside of Liyue, which was the setting of version 2.4’s Lantern Festivals. Travellers will then be able to unlock two new game modes, namely the “Preset Domains” and the “Custom Domains”. Let’s take a look at each of these.

Preset Domains

The people at the Adventurer’s Guild have thought up five unique Domains for adventurers to try out. In order to successfully complete these areas, however, players must reach specific destinations within a certain time limit. They will also need to obtain as many Adventure Coins as they can for maximum points.

Travellers cannot proceed to the next domain without completing the previous one. This means that they will do each area in order. To be able to keep things fresh and new, each Domain will have a different look and feel. Each will have its own tileset, dangers, traps, and boons for players to come across.

Terrain, Traps and other Mechanisms

The Hoyolab showed off snippets of various elements that will make up the foundations of these Preset domains. An example was various forms of terrain, such as platforms and slopes. There will also be specific surfaces that cannot be climbed over by normal means, and thus will limit players’ movements.

Various Mechanisms and Traps are also being scattered around the environment in order to deter or assist players. We have seen the usual Wind Rings that boost players’ movement speed while gliding or thunder plants that can stun targets in its area when hit. Some more annoying gizmos will be Fragile Platforms that break after a certain amount of time. Springboards that will launch players into an undesirable location, potentially wasting valuable seconds.

Traps, on the other hand, are more straightforward. They are mechanisms that have specific Elemental Alignments or do outright damage to characters.

On the good side, however, are Blessings. These boons will ensure that players will have an easier time and are definitely things that you should watch out for while running through these new Domains. We have the Strengthening Boon that recovers stamina, Stiridng Boon which increases movement speed, or the Leaping Boon which lets characters jump higher.

Custom Domains

However, the most impactful part of this event will be the feature that allows players to make their own Custom Domains. Players will be able to create up to 5 Custom Domains featuring all the terrain, mechanisms, traps and boons featured above. The only requirement is that Travellers complete the World Quest introduced by the event “Divine Ingenuity”.

Domain architects will be able to also customize the completion criteria for their creations. They can set the victory condition to be reaching a destination, collecting all of the Adventure Coins, or both. Players can also set limits as well as ban the usage of skills, to make things more challenging.

However, to be fair for everyone, a domain can only be published for public use if the creator themselves are able to complete their dungeon. No creations of impossible to complete dungeons!

Of course, those less artistically inclined may instead participate in Domains created by others. Unfortunately at the end of the event period, all Custom Domain Data will not be saved. Here’s hoping that Hoyoverse reconsiders and probably makes this feature more permanent.
