The Elden Ring DLC recently won the Best Expansion award at the Golden Joystick Awards. In his acceptance speech, Hidetaka Miyazaki revealed details about the studio’s ongoing projects.
True to his style, the studio president expressed โheartfelt gratitudeโ for receiving the award during the British gala. However, the highlight of his video message was the announcement that FromSoftware is working on multiple new titles, with more details to be shared soon.
“At the moment, we are preparing several new games, and I hope youโll look forward to what we have in store,” said Miyazaki.
A Focus on Elden Ring
Miyazaki emphasized the success of Elden Ringโavailable on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PCโhas been pivotal for the studio.
โThe incredible reception of Elden Ring has served as a source of encouragement and strength for the entire team,โ Miyazaki stated.
What Are These Mysterious Projects?
According to various leaks, the studio is currently working on three different games:
A Remastered Version of Dark Souls III
Rumors suggest that Dark Souls III could follow the remaster path of its predecessors, Dark Souls I and Dark Souls II, for modern platforms like PS4.
Spellbound: A New Soulslike Game
Leaked on ResetEra, this project is rumored to focus heavily on magic. Early details suggest:
- A map two-thirds the size of Elden Ring.
- Clothing with special powers.
- An 18th-century European setting.
- A pre-designed protagonist, akin to Sekiro.
The Third Project: A Mystery
This one remains unknown, but fans are speculatingโand hopingโit could be Bloodborne 2. However, this seems unlikely given Sony’s tight hold on the license, which hasnโt seen a remaster or PC release despite Miyazakiโs own wish
Itโs expected that FromSoftware will reveal at least one of these new projects soon, potentially during the upcoming The Game Awards. Fans eagerly await further announcements about the studioโs future.
