Free Demos and Trials to Play this Weekend
With everyone reducing their time outside, now might be the time to try out some of these great demos and trials that are happening this week and over the course of the weekend. Some of these are already available to play, you’ll find details about what to expect in the demo/trial, platforms and when they start.
Resident Evil 3 Remake Demo
It’s time to return to Racoon city as the Resident Evil 3 Demo is available to play as early as March 19th on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Play as Jill as she investigates Raccoon city which is experiencing a zombie infestation. RE3 Remake will shed light on events that not only only happened after Resident Evil 2, but also before.
Not only will you get to fight off a zombie apocalypse but if you’re up to the challenge, take on the collector’s challenge of finding all the bobble head figures throughout the city. This time you’ll be looking out for 20 “Mr. Charlie” figures who will be hiding in some obscure places. It’s kind of a scavenger hunt but with induced fear of being attacked by zombies and bioweapons. There’s also an open beta test for the online team survival mode Resident Evil Resistance but that’s happening on March 27th, you can find more details here.
Resident Evil 3 Remake will release on April 3rd 2020 on PC, Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
Trials of Mana Demo
Catch the demo of the remake of the original SNES game called Trials of Mana. Having had a 3D makeover, players can choose from two different characters and two companions from the available playable characters: Duran, Angela, Charlotte, Kevin, Riesz and Hawkeye. You’ll be able to experience the main character prologue, which will show their meeting with Faerie and their first companion.
The title gains new mechanics, character voice over support, a new class, reconstructed levelling system as well as more active battles. You can pick up this demo on Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch as early as March 18th, but this will differ depending on your region/platform.
Trials of Mana will launch on April 24th for Steam, Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
Assassins Creed Odyssey Free Weekend
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is also free to play this weekend starting on March 19th until March 22nd on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. Players will gain access to the entire main game content, and any progression you make during the free weekend will carry over if you decide to purchase. Ubisoft are also offering a free unlockable Ezio’s Roman Set for those who sign up through the Ubisoft Club.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is a game steeped in myth and legend, full of historical figures from ancient Greece. Players will take on a role as a descendant of King Leonidas, letting them explore a world full of ancestry in ancient Greece, as well as brandish his legendary blade. Choose from Warrior, Hunter and Seer abilities, to build your hero to suit your play style. The game is absolutely stunning, with many breathtaking views to take in in. Final Fantasy 7 Remake Demo
While this one isn’t new this week, it’s one we think you’ll enjoy as we had a blast streaming this on our Twitch channel. Final Fantasy VII Remake is a reimagining of the original, mixing command-based combat with real-time action. The title sets to stay true to the original narrative but there will be some new additions.
In the demo you’ll experience the beginning part of Cloud‘s adventure, use his buster sword, try out his abilities and fight some bad guys. You also have a chance to try out Barret who has an awesome gun arm. There are 3 different modes to try out, Easy, Normal and Classic. If you fancy just watching the characters play for you, you can pick Classic mode which is kind of like a interactive movie mode. I would advise you to choose items and limit moves during the boss fights though during this mode. If you want to know what we thought be sure to watch our Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo Gameplay Impressions.
Final Fantasy VII Remake releases on Playstation 4 on April 10th 2020.
