Anyone else think this is a bit overkill? Is anyone going to actually play all 16 DLCs?? I think it would be rather annoying to have to keep revisiting a section of the game every week because something new appeared there that wasn't there when you came through 3 days before...

Can companies just give us a complete game already? Add an expansion a few months in if it is successful?

It could be in new areas, reached from a Hub.

It's probably intended to keep people playing and/or stuff they wanted to do but couldn't meet publisher deadlines. Be glad it's free, EA/Ubisoft/Capcom would charge you for it. (though, I actually agree. I like how TES and Fallout handle things better. Full blown expansions several months in. We all knew they were coming and are totally cool with spending $120 on a game we're going to put thousands of hours into)

I think the free dlcs are likes features that were segmented from the main game to keep deadlines. It was originally a 2014 game and it didn't make it, so I imagine they are quite behind schedule.

Judging from the announced dlcs, I would think the vast majority are cosmetic choices.
