Haha! That's why I do what you do. Everyone's got their own way and many just want the fight.
I feel the most important part of etiquette is to observe your opponent, to acknowledge. In essence, that's what PvP is about as well.

Honestly I don't mind letting people buff. I used to bow and stuff but I didn't know the Honor System was a thing until i was invaded by a guy and he literally emptied his Estus in front of me. I caught on pretty quick that he wanted a fair fight. Long story short i fell into this weird glitch where you cant move (It's like a drop near the crabs in crucifixion woods by the bonfire. The guy didn't even attack me cause he could see i was stuck, even when i accidentally got a hit on him. He just dropped an ember and left. I was honestly astounded because i'd never had any experience with online dark souls before this and quite frankly I've never seen behavior like this in other games.

I don't think there are any other games out there with a Honor system like this and it completely contrasts the fair yet brutal nature of the game. I just don't want to see good guys like you and him go bad just to counter the scumbags out there that take advantage of your honorable nature. We'll end up losing the system in favor of two opposing side; Pricks who do what they can to win an unfair fight vs a bunch of Hyper-Capable, previously honorable, guys who'll use their extensive knowledge to just annihilate the opposition for fear of them being the aforementioned pricks.

I quite like the build-up that buffs provide and also the interesting fight and challenge they bring to the battle. For each buff a guy does I get excited because its building up to a battle that looks like its gonna get more difficult.

Anyway, sorry for the long post.

You seem to have a lot of anger...

I do it all the time, but never lose your temper! You're the only one to suffer from it, I promise.
You'll lose your dignity and that will make you even angrier! It is truly a viscious cycle.

Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to Hate. Hate leads to suffering.

Don't be! We all love to read, that's why we hang out at a forum ;-)

And you're right. I also think the Dark Souls community consist of very cool people for the most part!

Just throw Duel Charms if a dude buffs, normally they point down after that lmfao

Yes, which is truly rich. As if they are entitled to a buff just because they hit square. Not that I usually debuff or anything, it is just that the option is there and standing there throwing stuff is absolutely punishable. That's one of those misguided social rules that contaminate the battlefields.

Funny thing is that the item is called a **** DUEL CHARM

Yeah man, true! Well, nothing to do about it; the people have spoken. They'll skin us alive with downward thrusting pointy fingers if we use them.

Yes, but not Buffed claws. That's the thing, if you can hit me, I can hit you back. If you have Hyperarmor, I can outspace you with a faster weapon between your swings. If you pull out that chicken wing, I can 3 Hand this Greatmace, and pop Perseverace. "Parry THIS!"
Thwomp. If you stand there and Buff, I can hit you with a debuff. If you stand there and chug, I can hit you with a Talisman...

That's how PvP works: Anything you can do, I can Counter. Honestly, buff builds don't tick me off as much as triple-buff builds, but what really burns my biscuits is guys getting Triggered because someone drank an Estus Flask. Seriously, WTF is with that? It's not OP, it's the same item every single player starts with. The ONLY item, in the game, EVERYONE is guaranteed to have. It doesn't get any more fair and balanced than that, so how, exactly is that OP?

Any more OP than Roll Dodge, the same guys that kvetch about the 1 effective Healing mechanic in the game seem to think that "Roll Souls" is OP. Okay, then why is there a no Estus rule, and yet there's not an equally specious No Rolling rule? Think about that, there's a straight up counter to the Estus Flask, in the game. You can carry 5 of them. And yet, the 1 thing at least as annoying for drawing out duels to intermidability is Roll Souls. People rage quit just as much from that as being beaten by the bottle (In invasions, Obviously) and yet, we ban Chuggers. Straight up Black Crystal out, and make salty video montages to humiliate them publically for using The Healing mechanic in a game otherwise devoid of practical healing, but Regeneration builds are all the rage, because maybe they won't notice my Health gauge going back up if it ticks slowly enough?

I just don't understand it. The Meta was like this when I got here, but had I any say in the matter, I wouldn't have banned a damned thing. Scrub Bans from Stop Having Fun Guys ruins build viability. They take options out of player's hands, so that Estus Ring? {Chucks it over my shoulder} "Won't be needing this." If you don't like it, COUNTER IT. This isn't Rocket Surgery people, they put Undead Hunter Charms in the game for a reason.

But I guess it's easier to whine about the other guy's connection than to Get Good with a lingering gas attack. Seriously? Guys that free-aim Exploding Bolts to rollcatch can't figure out what to do with an UHC, and yet still call them Lloyd's Talismans, so they should know better.

It's like I'm taking crazy pills!
