This frustrates me. It assumes there would be a consistent number of players regardless of your level and in 2021, that's not the case. I think I've seen a player summon twice since I started playing months ago.

Is the end game meta still around SL120? I'm currently 95, but I just stopped levelling mostly because I don't like that one questline with Yoel that forces you to level up. Heard from a friend it locks you out of some things if you abuse it too much per playthru.

Meta is 110-133. I'm not sure what you mean by the other part but you can only level up 5 times, and I don't think it effects much of the game. Just go farm gold winged knights for souls.

After you use Yoel 5 times he dies and Yuri's shows up in his place.

She sells everything he did and more, as well as a couple of questlines you can do.

As for pvp, the meta has crept up over the years. 120 - 130 is still probably the best, but you'll still get activity up to 150.

Is the summoning mechanic only relying on soul and weapon level?
I am currently on a SL-1 +0 weapons run and sometimes I place a summon sign in case another player wants some help in their challenge run.
However, when I am getting summoned (e.g. Ariandel Chapel), it is usually by someone using equipment that surpasses the summon range limits described on this page (like player able to onehand the Wolf Knight's Greatshield or the Greatsword).

if you leave your sign when you are a sunbro, you can encounter people up to 20 lvls higher than you, that means yo can encounter people in SL20 and at that point you can easily one hand a lot of high requirement weapons. They might also have equipped the Knigth/Hunter's ring or the Carthus ring that gives you dexterity.

Or maybe they were hackers and modified they soul levels to appear lower than normal.

This is because WU only corelates to the host (summoner) and his WU. A host with +6 weapon can can "guests" with level upgrade up to +8... And anything below. So if the guy is same SL range as you, but has +10 weapon while you still use +1 then he can still summon you. But you can't summon him. Simple as.

It makes sense. Pretty much anyone lower than you that's currently in that area would be able to invade you. Anyone from about level 13 to 38 or so would be able to invade you. Don't quote my numbers. I'm just guesstimating based on the calculations.
