I think this new stat system is very intuitive. Rather than mix and match stat points, it seems like you just pick between one of five pre-set playstyles - each offering survivability, a specific weapon type, it's own element for attack and support spells, and a few other traits like stealth and spirit gain. Every build will be both melee and caster, but still feel unique. I like the simplicity, it's a refreshing change from Nioh's complicated stat system. The individual weapons, armour and spirit attributes will likely contribute to more focused builds, but the base stats offer a great baseline to build more complex characters.

We're still not sure what the caps on stats are, if it's anything like Nioh 1 and 2 then it's likely that builds will focus on two primary stat pools while dumping the rest in whatever benefits their build. Down the road we might even get content that adds new bonuses to the cap like Scrolls of the Damned.

Guys you have to minds the stat caps. It is not effective if you just scare one star to 99. Pls check the soft and hard caps. I think vor wood (hp) it’s capped at 40 and doesn’t improve well after that point.

This is incorrect because I currently have 4 builds with 99 in FIre, Water, Toxin and Wood. They all do massive damage with the respected types and they are extremely effective. Currently on NG plus for all no issues whatsoever. Btw Wood 99 makes you extremely tanky
