This altered version drops from the Aristocrats with swords or torches. Not the ones using sorcery or the ones with Estocs (the ones with feathered hats)

A good place to farm the altered version is in the courtyard, outside of Debate Parlor grace in Raya Lucaria.

Kind of a unique chest piece in that it has very good physical resistance but poor magical resistance for its weight class. Physical damage is much more common though, making this a great choice for characters with low equip load.

Farmed this at the Schoolhouse Classroom grace in Raya Lucaria. There is a group right outside the grace site in the area with the wheel and you can quickly do a run and reset to farm for this or the Noble's Slender Sword.
