People thought Bed of Chaos was bad, then came Miquella's Haligtree. People thought that was bad, them came Lake of Rot. After this, surely things couldn't get worse. Until Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree attacked. Just a warning, the second part is exactly the same as Lake of Rot, with an ulcerated tree spirit, and you cannot run, only walk. Have fun.

Use backstep for fast mobility in any area with deep water/slime/scarlet rot etc

Bloodhound dash, an ash of war you get in the first 5 hours of the game can get you across without being afflicted with scarlet rot.

That fight with the rot swamp isn't even required to reach the main boss

^ True, although it is required for one of the trophy/achievement endings.

It isn't required for an ending, it makes you go out of the frenzy lord ending but you can just choose to not do that ending lmao

There's no need in touching that tree spirit unless you really want to finish Millicent's questline. The rot part of location takes like 2-3 minutes to get through. And it's nothing like the Lake of Rot.

Lake of rot last like 5 mins and there's two graces near each other and barely any enemies in the lake

Farum Azula is far worse IMHO, Haligtrees are not that bad if you run past enemies

For the miniboss outside Elphael Inner Wall, not sure what it is, the rotten variant of erdtree avatars. That boss arena is so unfair due to the amount of other enemies and knights, that I had to cheese it using a bow. Drops Lord's Rune which gives 50000 runes upon consumption.

How the hell are you supposed to beat the root tree with the two guards? Blocking the grace I had to run past them but it seems impossible because they constantly heal each other while the stupid tree just spam jumps and rots everywhere making half the space unusable. I cannot figure out how they expected you to beat encounter without just running past them. Any tips?

First, parkour down to the gulch/trench in the bottom. The grafted crawlies take massive damage if you use Heal near them. Like, almost all their health damage.

Facing towards the offending fortress of guys, there is a ladder on the right that leads up to a room with some rot knights and normal soliders. Kill them, then progress out the door and you'll be behind the upper crossbowmen. Good luck from there!

Run passed to the grace. You can run down the far stairs to deaggro her and sneak back up for a free heavy attack.

After trying a hundred times with my build, here's what I did: I ran through to grab the grace, purposefully died, spawned at the grace behind the tree and guards, then spammed black fireballs and kited to the doorway past the grace that the tree can't fit into. It despawned once trying to reach me but it didn't heal fully by the time I got back to its spawn, where I repeated the process for the kill.

Find you way to the two ballistas up on the ledge to the right and the pump 200 fire arrows into the tree. You can get to the ballistas by climbing the ladder down into the area with the revenants and climb up the first ladder you see, stick the the left wall and go through the door and you should find the ballistas.

above them is a buttress, you need to take the path from the outer wall to get there. from up there you can kil them with magic, if you are melee, well you are f'd

You need to pick off the 2 Ballistas on the right side rampart 1st, then you can try ranged battle from there.
There's also a way to go slightly above and drop behind the tree avatar to access the Site of Grace in the area behind it

From the bonfire behind them, I was able to aggro the tree avatar and pull it into the room with the grace alone.

There's a side pathway to bypass the putrid avatar.

Make your way towards to platform on the right where you see a blue scarab and some flowers, then drop down onto the stairs and make your way up. You should end up above the monster, where you can make a jump that bring you behind it towards the grace.

If you made it to the grace behind it, attract just the Erdtree avatar into the room with the grace and fight it there. When it jumps and spreads rot, it only does so in front of it, so roll behind it to keep attacking. If there's too much rot just back away until it starts clearing up.

And I though Miquella's Haligtree is the worst location in the game. But seems it only gets worse closer to the end.
