This **** is ***; garbage damage, enemies don't stagger, and you don't get any sort of poise channeling it like the ******* invader who uses it against you. Waste of runes.

Like the other anon said, madness is useful primarily for PVP, so if you find yourself trying to afflict regular enemies, it's best to make use of the plethora of other spells

I say waste of runes because of how many times I died getting this garbage. Most of the time I can't get the cast off without being interrupted immediately. PvP use or not, I hate this spell and it shows how biased sorcery spells are when compared to the schlock we keep getting every game for faith builds.

Plus, Faith is OP af if you play it right. Rot breath can cheese almost every boss in the game. Bestival sling shreds low poise enemies with its fast cast. Arcane/faith blood builds are OP. Mohg spear AOE hits for thousands in a wide range and you can spam it for like 15 fp

Faith builds are Short range, damage over time, defensive, and utility. Sorcery is long range pure damage. Sounds like you prefer Sorcery... so play Sorcery builds.

Can be found on top of the Frenzy-Flaming Tower, a short distance north of the minor Erdtree northwest of Raya Lucaria

Found it! It is in the frenzy flaming tower in a chest you can hold it down to keep shreiking and also inflicts madness on you though so watch out

Holding down does absolutely nothing. And at 50 Mind I'm most definitely not running out of FP. You cannot charge/channel this.

Found it in a fort with a smoldering Yellow Flame in the air above it (looks like the Eye of Sauron and causes madness), in a chest on the second level. Its north of Frenzied Flame Village, about 100 or less meters.

Shouldn’t be used in PvE, regular enemies don’t seem to be affected by madness. Might be good in PvP though

It's not listed anywhere in the spell's description, but Howl seems to also grant a ~22% damage boost to all types of damage for the duration of the "taunt" effect. It's still not great, but at least it's not an active detriment.

You find this in the Frienzied tower close to the Frienzied Village. Its the tower with the big burning yellow flame eye ball that inflicts maddness as you approach it. Kill the enemies in the tower and you will find this spell

Can confirm, This thing has a 22% damage buff for about 20 seconds. If you wanna run a one-shot build, this is a must!
