How would invasion leveling work if say a new friend starts the game and is a low level and I help them as as level 150+? Would it be invader of my level?

Yes, only the host's level matters for the invasions. Using the password feature you can ignore the summoning limits and call one or two 150-200 level metas with fully upgraded weapons to help you brave the dangers of Limgrave and Siofra and to fight low-level invaders. It is totally ok, that's what most coop players do nowaday.

150 is going to be on the high end already, 125 is the meta level, menaing youll get the most matches around there

The fact that 150 matches with 125 in arena is so annoying. 25 extra points of defenses and whatever other stats giving you an advantage against everyone else playing at the actual meta level. Feels cheap when you know someone is leagues above your level but they still matched with you and still feel like they outplayed you despite the advantages.

"Actual meta level." The supposed level cap made up by a bunch of redditors, you mean?

"Actual meta level" is and always has been 120. And why do you care if some rando thinks they outplayed you in a videogame lol

"Made up by a bunch of redditors" Big oof. The level cap of 120 was decided back in DS1 to min/max the 51-100 arena bracket, and was increased to 125 by some in DS3 to min/max covenant invasions. The only level bracket in Elden Ring that From's matchmaking seems to encourage is 100 or below due to how the arena matchmaking range changes when you hit 100. Which is a system copied over from DS3. To reply to Rexis102, the natural conclusion of min/maxing a level bracket is to become min/maxed urself so 150's are the next step. Just go to 175 and min/max them ; P Or ask for From to let players set there matchmaking range within the formula, but they'll never do that sadly.

Yes, made up by a bunch of redditors during Demon's Souls (not Dark Souls). If you're trying to educate someone, at least get your facts straight. The games themselves always allowed you to level up as long as you want. There is no "level cap." It's all in your head.

the meta level for elden ring was not made by redditors it was made by a large part of the pvp community after several big names like oroborus did testing, we are choosing to stay at 125 because it allows for the largest variety of builds, any higher makes poise stacking far too easy so the meta would just be a trades fest

TBF the meta is supposed to be where your build is min/maxed, therefor even if you match with someone of higher level, he doesn't have any notable advantages. A pure phys stat build at 120-130 has reached that point, whereas a pure caster stat build might need a little extra from mind. So you're not really fighting anyone that has an edge, or at least not much of one... 120-150 is not 'leagues above' by any stretch

Most people are at level 150 so you should go around 140-160 if you want to pvp

"125 is the meta, actually". Even if that were true, 150 or near it is still within that range.

I've been having tons of fun co-oping at RL 85 with +17 weapons. The rune arcs, boss rush type gameplay, and random player interactions are all even better with a good lowbie build. Invaders are pretty tame at these levels, though you do get the occasional tryhard that will G9 your team. For bosses, I've been getting lots of Radahns, Sewer Mohgs, Crucible Knight Silurias, Morgotts, and of course that Ulcerated Tree Spirit guarding the Mt. Gelmir Minor Erdtree (us mages love that one).

Overall a source of good fun for someone who has completed all the single-player content the game has to offer. Pop on an obscure but fun weapon, grab your favorite AoW, get all the spells/gear you can, and perhaps pick up a Prattling Pate if you prefer parlaying with partnered players!

I stopped at RL137 and it seems great - tons of multiplayer in all forms, you can interact with both 125 and 150 players, and overall have lots of points to spend in stats. Just one gripe is that you will eventually get sick of Radagons, Malenias, Malikeths, Godfreys and Godskins you will get summoned for over and over at this level lol.

Anything above 306 gets pretty regular co op activity, you will be summoned to join gank squads at the first step on a regular basis, but there are also many NG+x people out there who actually want clear a level with a stranger. You never know how hard an enemy is going to hit until they do.
