It's not dropped by the boss. It's just in a chest. The boss will drop Concealing Veil (talisman).

This weapon seems to ignore shields

I think they have nothing special to them. The description of the Bloodhounds states something like that, but I haven't noticed any difference thus far, but the Bloodhounds should have more poise damage, but very minor, if any

How do these compare to the hook blades?

Base damage is lower, the scaling is better and has actually good Heavy attack combo. Imo these are the best claws.

For those wonder like I did. I ended up biting the bullet and grinding the raptor talons to +17 to match hookclaws I was using for my last 20 hours. Aside from the move set; the Raptors have better dex scaling as you level them up. Right now my hook claws are Str:D and Dex:B while the Raptors are Str:E and Dex:A. I asume by +25 the Raptors will have S scaling on Dex

Thank you very much, I was already wondering what their point is. Do they have less poise damage or is it unnoticable? The heavy charge attack seems to be also better than the hookclaws'.

This is wrong~ Check your affinities

Best claws for sure since they dont have that ugly wooden part that the hookclaws do, and they scale much better than the bloodhound claws for dex. Don't think i need to specify why the venom stinger claws are worse.

Are there two of these in that same cave?

You only need 1 and it magically lets you equip two with two handing

I don't believe so but two-handing one of them gives you a pair to use anyway.

You just need one since if you change your stance to two handed with those claws you will simply pull out another and dual wield them

It's not magic, you can see the second claw hanging on your belt if only using it single-handed ;)

Upgraded them to +25 for science to see whether they surpass my +25 Hookclaws. They dont. With 59 dex I do 410 (187 + 223) total dmg with the Hookclaws and 404 (173 + 230) with the Raptor Talons. Both have the "keen" mod. Moveset is different, I like the heavy attack of the Raptor Talons more.

Good info thanks!

They do get a bonus to jumping attacks though! If that's significant, that might make them situationally better!

Also, the Talons look better and seemingly ignore some/all of a shield which is super handy

doesnt matter. talons look cooler.

+24 seems to have higher numbers than +25. with 60 dex +24 is 181+241 and it's showing that +25 the damage goes down to 173+234. Is that bugged?

Thanks for that. Since they're similar in dmg, it would be awesome if you can figure out how much the jump attack bonus from raptor talon is compared to hookclaws:)
