skill is unaffected by godfrey icon, axe talisman, and shard of alexander

the skill changes your heavy attack, and the heavy attack is affected by the axe talisman, so axe talisman is good for this weapon

Warrior Jar / Shard of Alexander buffs the golden tempered heavy attack. Same thing for the altered heavy attacks of stuff like War Cry. The rule of thumb seems to be if an AoW grants it, it's buffed by anything that specifically buffs AoWs.

One of the best things about this weapon, once buffed, is that you can hold a shield in your offhand and using the heavy attack will bring out the other sword. It’s good for mix ups, and also if you prefer to normally use just one of the swords.

Really cool and underrated thing about this weapon is that it's AOW is basically carried over to it's charged R2, and you can still use the dual wielding combo attack, while single handling the weapon.

This means that it pairs nicely with shields. If you put Skill on your Shield, like let's say a parry it overwrites the skill of your weapon. But since this weapon's AOW is in it's R2, you can have Shield AOW, and still have access to your weapons AOW.

Great weapon. Really wish they would give it’s AoW hyper armor. Or make it like the Regalia of Eochiad AoW where you can opt out the last hit by rolling. It’ll make it more versatile and give you more opportunities to use the AoW since you won’t be completely at the mercy of it’s telegraph.

I Made a whole build for this weapon and it IS actually pretty strong. With the special charged R2 and buffs i die about 3K damage on a boss. The only downside is on the weapon is the missing hyper armor on the charged R2s. All in all i think its an underestimated weapon.

Special charged r2 needs actual hyperarmor and it would be chef's kiss.

The unique charged heavy attack combo that you get with Golden Tempering active does not seem to be affected by the Axe Talisman. Tested against an NG+2 Godrick Soldier with unupgraded Ornamental Straight Swords, the full combo did 448 damage both with and without Axe Talisman

It might be boosted by the Godfrey Icon, as some skill-associated charged attack things are. I'll check.

Update on that: It is boosted by neither the Shard of Alexander nor the Godfrey Icon.

it's because the attack combo isn't te ash of war, the buff is, so it doesn't work. lame, but makes sense.

The talismans with a bonus on successive hits and the last hit in combos would scale with it if youre looking for that extra damage out of it.
