As someone who uses colossal weapons almost exclusively, I was seriously underestimating this one. It's probably my second favorite after the Guts Sword.

How in the Lands Between does this do less poise damage than most great axes.

The moment I fell in love with strength builds in this game is when I beat Rennala's second phase first try by using upward slash. I felt like such a God stunlocking her.

If you fight it when it is raining, its health is DRASTICALLY reduced

The R2 is a nice option for trading since it has really high hyperarmor and less prone to getting aimpunched

It's a close call between this or the Giant-Crusher for infusable colossals, but what tips me in favor of this is the charged heavy. I adore the great spear R2 like the Serpent Hunter has and have just never ever liked the Giant-Crusher's flippy thing -- you end up missing at close range if the boss moves even a bit, and it's slow with a long recovery. If you're an AR junkie who likes to see Big Numbers the GC is probably more your speed, though, considering it gets +69 (nice) AR at +25 and 80 STR, two-handed. Also might be worth mentioning you get a full arm's length more reach with Prayerful Strike on the Golem's Halberd, which has come up before.

guys, be careful when using this weapon, because aim punch absolutely RUINS it when you're going for trades. the basic light attack and things like the charged war cry attack can completely whiff if you get hit in the middle of doing it. source: trust me, i've been doing a playthru with some pvp every now and then, and it happens so often it's insane.
