so im on my first blind playthrough, i get to the cavern and i think huh whats gonna be the gimmick here!? FREAKING SPIDERS EVERYWHERE!?!?! SPIDERS. EVERY. WHERE. CONSTANTLY.

I don't know if the torch part is accurate. Might have to test it. Although there were a couple of instances where the spiders didn't attack and I had no idea why. None of them attacked me in the boss fight for sure.

If they are "active", like walking around and attacking, some will flee from you holding a torch, others will just stand there. (Works wonders at the boss fight) if they are "Dormant" like clung to the wall or ceiling, they won't flee the torch until activated by event "Like a trap" Or attacked.

As I progressed in my playthrough, I was able to confirm that you're right, the torch part IS accurate. My bad.

Its It's not even the complete loot table. They can drop Crystal Magic weapon too.

Can confirm that after playing Scholar of The First sin and being habit deter spiders with the torch, on the PS3 version they don't care, at least, in my old NG+3 file

These annoying little spiders hit hard and fast. Almost have to time precisely when to press R1 so you hit them before they hit you.
