Is it just me or is it weird Devil is even option on the Azata path? They're literal complete opposites, Lawful Evil vs Chaotic Good. The only way the conversion would make any sense whatsoever is if the Azata Commander was hit in the head one morning and decided to do a complete 180 of his personality.

It's not as weird as it sounds when you realize the whole thing involves being slowly corrupted to make increasingly lawful evil decisions suggested by a certain advisor If you let them guide you along that path. It's a case of a devil subtly manipulating you to abandon your path for theirs.

I thought that at first, but it makes sense when the Devil appears in the story-line. Think of it this way: Azatas (Chaotic Good) are everything the Devils are not; they are the most unlawful and disruption creatures all in the name of freedom and goodness. When you reveal who the Devil is, he quite literally says, "I could not ignore you as a rising potential threat."
Now the problem that a lot of people are going to have here--who are not familiar with Pathfinder like myself--is that obtaining this Mythic Path feels too restrictive. In fact, none of the previously "evil" options lets you become a Devil, which is even more confusing until you learn that Demons, Daemons and Devils are all different things and don't like each other. Yet there is no real reason given why a Lich wouldn't want to become a Devil.

Yeah imo it doesn't make a lot of sense corrupting an azata who is a mighty commander, friendly, fun, and succesfull on many endeavors. At least it should take more than a simple talk overnight with a devil. Only sensible reason for an Azata Knight Commander to turn into devil after coming so long would be to being crazy in the head from the start and never actually being a free, passionate person.

Yeah they really botched this. Devil would have been a lot better if it was a core path from the start if you ally with the Hellknights. Also no option to become one for asmodeus worshipers or fallen angels? Bad...just bad.

Do caster feats like spell focus / penetration improve the spell-like abilities you get from this?

anyone know if things like Gold Dragon Bloodline Sorcerer's bonus damage to fire spells effect the Hellfire Ray spell-like you get?
