As i see it, in a word were half elves are a thing, it makes sense that some elves look like humans with pointy years after many years of crossbreeding. Discussion aside, elves have many different aspects depending on the medium used to represent them, just look at Dobby, hence why it's stupid to say that elves "should look" any particular way

Are we looking at the same picture? I see a human with pointy ears holding a crow.

Personally I kinda agree with you. I always thought that mass-culture elves are the most boring-looking fantasy race. But remember what happened with Divinity: Original Sin 2. Larian Studios made elves look like different race rather then "humans with pointier ears" and they were awesome IMO. However what followed was "WAH-WAH MUH ELFS ARE UGLY" on forums and steam discussions. So yeah. Enjoy your slim, tall and pointy ears humans since that is what public demands.

"BG3 is D&D. In D&D, elves aren't supposed to look alien"
This guy has not read through any older D&D editions
"stop gatekeeping how a fantasy race should look, you sound like a child"
He stated an opinion, stop crapping the bed over it.

In Different D&D settings, elves look different. For example, In Dark Sun campaign, elves looks very different form lord of the ring type elves.

Tbh should elves look different than humans because they are a different species with different adaptations? I really hate it how every fantasy race these days has to be as human as possible. So far Ember is one of the few characters I like. I've kept Lann and Ember the rest of the characters just seems meh. I wish I could of kept the scary spider lady too. :(

Ember looks just like a human with pointy ears. The only other difference are her eyes are completely black. Larian's tree elves from Divinity OS 2 just looked like tall humans with weird bark patterns on their skin. Orcs just look like humans but green and with tucks.
Honestly, if it can be called humanoid, it looks like a human. I don't see why people that want their elves to look like Orlando Bloom are so much more wrong than people that want their elves to have biologically implausible features like 2 foot long ears and glowing eyes.

And I'm pretty sure Ember's eyes are because she was burned or her oracle curse, not because she is an elf. Most other elves in the game have totally normal eyes.

"And I'm pretty sure Ember's eyes are because she was burned or her oracle curse, not because she is an elf. Most other elves in the game have totally normal eyes." Elves of Golarion have those types of eyes.

Elves on Golarion specifically have eyes with no visible whites, giving them a more alien appearance. The same isn't true of forgotten realms elves. Golarion elves also have longer ears.

Does anyone remember the ancient DOS CRPG Albion? The cat race’s ladies had six boobs, and it was interesting. Things could be weirder

Different worlds, different settings. You shouldn't get to worked up about it - some great title already set it in stone, what the said races generally looks like, that's the base of most people's images about them. They have Fey ancestry, but as they adapted into the material plane, they become more human-like. Those, who inherited more of their Fey heritage, looks a bit more 'alien', those who are more closer to their chosen home, those are more human-like. That's all. (You know, Lore contains reasons for what is what, and why...)
Also, to the Anonymus, who wanted both Lann and Wenduag in it's party: You can have both of them, but only in Act V, and only if you made the right choices (if you take Lann with you in the Labirinth, you need convince Wenduag to be better, if you tae Wendu with yourself, you need convince Lann, that sometimes the end justifies the means). Also, both of them is a romancable character, however Lann is a female-only one, while Wendu doesn't share that traditional viewpoint. You can only romance the one though, who you choose at the end of the Ivory Labirinth - some of the necessary events are during Act III, when you cannot recruit the other yet.

By far my favourite companion. Even as a evil character I want to protect this child.

This is actually confusing me as a lore. Is she really a child? What she says to Wolf guy and to you that she is alive for a long long time. Does that mean she is just stuck in a child's body or she is something like a vampire who don't age at all. Or is it because she is an elf that her growth is really delayed.
Anybody knows her full back story?

An elf can live up to a thousand years - that would equal a 100 year old human. She slightly older than 100 year old (she born a bit before the Worldwound opened), so she just a tiny bit count older, as a ten year old human. But otherwise yes, she is older, than prelate Hulrun.

Why does a Blackened Witch have Point Blank Shot and Precise Shot?

ray spells are not weapon attacks but still receive the -4 penalty on ranged attacks into melee
- Fri Feb 11, 2022 10:16 pm

So to avoid a -4 to hit with ray spells when casting on targets in melee range of your front line.

Any ranged attacks - be it a shot from a ranged weapon, a magical ray, or a ranged a spell using a ranged touch attack - get some serious disadvantages without the Precise Shot feat, and for that, you need the Point Blank Shot. Those are necessities also any thrown weapons and Kineticists too (with thew only exception the Kinetic Knight, as he operate meele toch attacks only).

She says she was burned in the First Crusade. She's about the same age as Galfrey.
- Thu Feb 16, 2023 11:49 pm
#16827933
When does she say that? Because she also says that Prelate Hulrun is the one who burned her at the stake. He’s middle aged at best in the 5th crusade. In the pathfinder universe It’s virtually unheard of for humans to live more than 70 years, with 110’s-120’s being the maximum lifespan aided by magic. So unless he’s a very healthy zombie?
- Fri Feb 17, 2023 5:55 pm
#16828046
Just to clarify. She was born right before the world wound opened, so she is about the same age as galifrey. But she wasn’t burned at the stake then, that didn’t happen until much later when her and her father moved to Kenabre/. The confusion comes from the fact that everyone refers to her as a child even tho she’s ~100 because with elven physiology that is stil childhood

#16864870
She looks like a child, because she is one - but a full-blooded elf, which means she can live for a thousand years, more or less. During the game, if we would exchange her age into human age, she would be slightly older, than 10 years old. But if we count the number of years purely, she is older, than prelate Hulrun...

If you not save her in Kenabres, when you first reach the Market place, you lost her. Some moronic 'crusader' planning to sacrifice her, so her innocent blood will grant power against the demons [or at least, in their minds], and you need either convince them or kill them, otherwise she won't survive. The only one who would like to refuse her would be Camellia, as in her eyes, she is a worthless beggar... But if you recruited Wenduag, instead of Lann, her natural predatory instincts tell her, that she is far more dangerous, than she looks like. (Also the only member of my team, whom against she was literally NEVER disrespectful - even the main character had to work harder to keep her respect, than that girl! )

I wonder what her real name is, ember is just what they called her, embers from the pyre she burned on.
But no one has seemed to realize that but me.

You know, Ember literally tell to the Commander, that she was called by many names by others, but she choose the name 'Ember' as she liked that the most. (She had some reason behind that, but i doesn't remember the whole speech by word.) This also means, that this isn't her given name - more like the name 'Doctor' in the series of the Doctor who: a promise to themselves.
In her case, the name 'Ember' is like the warmth of the home, which equals both with safety and family - an unbreakable unity in her innocent mind. The goal of unity of the entire world.
To me, it looks like, that it was you, who didn't listen to her... (My MC was a chaotic evil Lamashtu-follower Dhampir aiming for the Swarm-that-walks Mythic Path [but not reached that point yet], yet each and every time this girl was present, and had a word in the dialogs, i somehow always choose the Good options. My character believed, that everyone should be thruthful to themselves, doesn't matter, how much would that contradict to the surrounding masses or their own gods beliefs... But against this girl's innocence, he cannot say anything else, but "I will not ruin her - she did absolutely nothing to deserve that. Even Evil has standards." (Well, if i must, i think i will feed her to the swarm, but not because i doesn't like her - i would like to think of that, as a sacrifice for the universal unity. Afterall if you are either the part of the Swarm - or the food of the Swarm...)

Ember is just a treasure.
Especially if you take her with you to Areelu's Lab, the talk with Suture... Daeran does even improve this.
"You know, you really don't look like a baddie. You're funny. But sad." Dearan then goes on how she shouldn't try making friends with demons and that it would just eat her if he got a chance. "He wouldn't. But he would scare me. I'd ask him to come with us, but he won't come - I can tell." The voice actress also did a great job in putting the emphasis on the right passages/words.

I mean, she's a child. I know she's a hundred years old, but she's an elf, she's still a child. You can't romance her because she's still a kid.

Obviously legal. Besides, elves are made for two things; headpats and breeding. Who are you to deny them their destiny?

I love that even Daeran, who will tease and mock everyone else, refuses to be mean to Ember, because there's no point. As he explains to Lann, he's mean in order to get a rise out of people, and therefore being mean to Ember would be pointless, it is impossible to get a rise out of Ember. Honestly, most of the evil companions are still reasonably kind (or at least cautious in Wenduag's case) towards Ember, the main exception being Camilla, which is honestly what made me dislike Camilla.
