Where is the information about what (mag adj) equates to the damage added?

#16286761
It does Scale with Magic stat , However "Light Weapon" has a better scaling than "Enchant Weapon" which is the weaker version of this Spell... I think if you have 20 Magic Stat you get 180 Magic damage from this buff Light Weapon.

The scaling of Light Weapon's boost (regardless of weapon type or base damage) is determined by Magic Adjust. Magic Adjust is determined by your Magic (and Magic Power) stats. I.E. Insanity Catalyst would provide a larger boost over Wooden Catalyst given its Magic Adjust is higher than the latter.

Will this spell work if I will upgrade my weapon to Crescent? "only works on enchantable weapons" - what exactly "enchantable" means in this context, enchantable as "non-boss-soul" weapon, or, not at all upgraded, or, enchantable by default and does not matter in it is upgraded?

Regular, sharp, quality or crushing are enchantable. Everything else is a split damage type

This Spell "Light Weapon" & "Enchant Weapon" which is a weaker version , can be used on all weapons in the game that are Regular , Sharp , Quality , Crushing & i think also Tearing ( As normal Falchion curved weapons with Bleed do also get buffed with Resins ) However Cresent or Moon Weapons cannot he buffed.

The only Weapon of Exception that has a Magic & Physical damage is the Blueblood Sword ( By killing the Maiden Astrea Boss Pureblood Soul ). That weapon altho has magic damage it still can be Buffed by any buffs

So to simply put , Any normal weapon which gets upgraded with Magic damage stats like Moon upgrade or Cresent Upgrade or Dragon Fire upgrade , Blessed Upgrade etc.. Wont be able to get buffed later with any Enchantables

Why does the dark souls wiki have the math on the buff spells but not here??

I believe its just simply more people played it, and it had a pc release, so people could just rip the numbers from there easier.

"Greatly strengthens right-hand weapon. (Used with catalyst equipped in left hand.). A catalyst should be equipped to cast this spell." At all times? Or, just for casting, and then you can take the shield?
By Anonymous
#16283807
Yes, switch to shield after casting.

What would be the ideal amount of mag for this spell for a dex build/ when it would be better to put points into other stats?
By Anonymous
#16311769
I use 18 mag for my blue blood sword build and while it’s not a dex build the damage from light weapon was a massive improvement regardless. I went from doing 150 dmg to flamelurker without it to doing 300 instead. He got deleted

is there any way to increase the duration of the spell?
By Anonymous
#16347817
Sadly, afaik there is not. I dont think we got duration bugs until Dark Souls.

I tested against fatty located before endboss and It seems it is MagAdjust * 1.18 or 1.24 depending of movest.
I found later that * mentioned MagAdjust * 1.3 so this is more or less what you can expect.
At 30 Magic, I have 153 MagAdjust with wooden catalyst and deal ~182/190 bonus damage.
Quite good as my weapon damage is 118/185

So I tested this with a +10 Falchion vs my +5 Crescent Falchion. My mage has 55 MAG, 10 STR, 12 DEX and the +10 Falchion with Light Weapon casted from a Beast Talisman gave me 411 total attack power: 170+34 physical, and 207 magic. The +5 Crescent Falchion gives me 361 total attack power: 112+0 physical and 119+131 magic. Yielding both 2h and attacking the Fat Official in the Tunnel City (no NG) I did 301 dmg with the +10 Falchion/Light Weapon vs 286 dmg with the +5 Crescent Falchion.
Using a higher damage physical weapon and/or having a higher magic rating would only further boost those numbers. If you're trying to maximize single swing damage, dump some points into STR/DEX to use a higher damaging weapon and buff it with light weapon.
As a bonus, this spell gives off a decent glow effect lighting up the environment better than the Moonlight Sword.
