I found and planted the seeds, but for whatever reason the quest isn't finished. Did the game mess up?

Quest is bugged for me, and a lot of other people, from what I've googled. I got all 5 seeds but I'm pretty sure one didn't get into my inventory for some reason, so I couldn't plant them all. checked all 5 spots again to be certain. wound up just killing the robot instead, but it was sad
