The boss starts out as Genichiro, and then phase changes into Sword Saint. Genichiro - Really similar to the second phase of his rematch. He has a bow that does absurd damage and a katana. Be aggressive and you can just run all over him. First Phase: Isshin has a longsword and engages you fairly close up. He has long combos and several Perilous attack combos. If you play your cards right you can down him incredibly quickly by learning his combo strings, but he has a few *bull*****attacks*. He can use wind attacks similar to the ones the Divine Dragon used that hit fullscreen, and even deflecting them damages you. Bait out Mikiri counter thrusts and whittle him down. Second Phase: Isshin stamps the ground and pulls out a spear and a shorter blade. This is where the fight ramps up in difficulty - his attacks are far less telegraphed than the first phase and he has a really long range on his spear attacks. Beating him revolves around baiting out his thrusting attacks and Mikiri countering them. Third Phase: Same as the second phase with added LIGHTNING. It's maybe a bit harder than the second phase but the second phase was already a huge difficulty spike over the first phase. If you get shocked you might as well just quit out and reload back to Genichiro.

The shield prosthetic is insanely helpful vs this guy. All the BS wind attacks don't do any chip damage through the shield (I was using suzaku's but I assume any would work). Phase one is really easy once you get it down. You just hit, hit, deflect, hit, hit deflect being ready to mikiri if he does the stab and running behind quickly if he backs up and goes into the draw stance. I was reliably doing him hitless. Phase 2 is definitely hard as hell. Long attack chains, a lot of super armor and deflect armor attacks, big AoE windslash that fortunately shield negates. Be aware that at any point he can thrust, he can also sweep. You need to really keep an eye on them. Both take a while to come out so take your time. I found the easiest way to fight him was deflect 1-2 hits and then jump away and see what he would do. Wish I could fight him again. Phase 3 adds the windslashes which are hard to deal with without shield and the lightning which is super awesome for you because it takes out like 1/3rd of his hp if you reflect it. It's pretty slow too so you have a lot of time to jump and mid air deflect.

everytime he charges his wind attacks you can double jump on him avoiding the attack und doing good damage.

I still haven't beat him, but you are right, shield is really effective against him, especially if you've got the projected force skill, it does good health damage and can do insane posture damage if you can hit him in the air (I did once by a fluke). I wonder which shield type is best though?

This boss almost caused my brother to suffer a major heart attack too, I had to take the game away from him. Sadly games these days are aimed at Elite players, people who have no other methods of challenge in their real lives. Because Japanese gamers could care *****ing less about being challenged in a video game. Not when you spend hours and hours a day working, and going to school so you can be better at much other things in life versus gloating and telling people to "get gud" like a *****ing moron online.

Learn the moveset and don't trip if you die, you're meant to. It's all about learning the moveset and punishing where you can. Just bait the jump attack, spank him, and boogie out. As far as having a heart attack maybe just chill and realize it's just a GAME.

"people who have no other methods of challenge in their real lives" you probably wanted to write: "I'm not bad! I have some randomly rolled insults for the players of the game to make them bad - which makes me better than them" If you can't handle some challenge, go back to Hello Kitty. Difficult games are not meant for you. "Not when you spend hours and hours a day working, and going to school so you can be better at much other things in life versus gloating and telling people to "get gud" like a *****ing moron online." Git gud means stop crying about the difficulty in one of the very few games specifically designed to be difficult and learn to play. And what people want to do with their freetime shouldn't be your concern. Some like to turn their brain off and relax on tv or some hello kitty games and others like to play a more demanding game.
