Height of Technique is the most anoying one. Have all others in ng+ without any trouble. Is it better to grind a day or to start a ng++

In my experience the only good grinds are end game and the xp increase was so marginal vs scaling for points that it is more worth it just to grind on NG instead of beating the whole game again

It's better to start NG++ because rushing bosses is a lot faster than any farming method.

Got all 3 Ninjutsu techniques and achievement is not unlocked, annoying :(

For the Height of Technique all skills trophy it says, "Can be completed in a single playthrough with heavy grinding" - how? Don't you need both Shura boss skill and other ending boss skill for this? i.e. two playthroughs, or do those combat arts not count for the trophy?

I believe you still get the achievement even if you don't have those skills.

The One Mind and Dragon Flash combat arts are not required for the achievement
By Anonymous
#16126697
Aren't those different? I don't remember having to level up a skill tree and unlock those, if I'm remembering correctly after you kill each Isshin you just automatically acquire One Mind and Dragon Flash.

In my experience it is quicker go grind in NG since the good grinds are endgame. The scaling of XP increase vs Skill point isn't worth beating the game again.

It's worth going into higher cycles because bosses give a ton of exp, so that ends up faster than farming if you rush most of the game.

Even with save-scummingl, platinum would take 2 playthroughs. The prosthetic weapons have to all be acquired and lapis lazuli is limited per playthrough.

It should be obvious, but important to mention. DO NOT save the shura ending for your second playthrough as this will lock you out o Fountainhead Palace

(Dammit let us edit our comments fextra! Please! Also the "submit" button shouldn't overlay your text in the comment box. Love you!) *This will force you into a 3rd playthrough to obtain said lapis lazuli for your prosthetic trophy

Also, you need incredible amounts of Exp for the Height of Technique, which I got through doing the Shura ending over and over again, because up until that part of the game you get massive amounts of Exp from everything.

If you do the Shura ending first it's impossible to get platinum in 2 playthroughs. You'll be stuck at the end of NG+ with only 6 lapis.

To get platinum in 2 playthroughs you must do the 3 non-shura endings first, then do a save backup before Owl's decision point in NG+. Then you can complete the Shura ending and reload your save to collect the lapis you need for the last upgrades.

It's possible to do in 2, but it's a bit convoluted, usually you'd need 3. Two non-Shura for Lapis, and one Shura for all bosses. You can circunvent that by making a backup before the talk with Owl, then play until the end for all prostetics, then reload your backup and do Shura on the same cycle, but it's not actually worth doing that because you'd just end up having to farm even more for all skills than if you did 3 (or 4) full playthroughs, so it's more efficient to just play it as intended, since farming will take so long anyway (Unless you can't beat NG+2, as the bosses do get harder each time. If that is the case then you don't really have any option other than farming for even more time. No need to feel ashamed of being unable to finish the game on harder cycles though, the game is harder for some than for others after all)

I just got the platinum trophy! Yay! Worst FromSoft game ever. I really hope they don't make the same bad decisions on Elden Ring.

just because it doesn't have the same 70% reused mechanics of every fromsoft game doesnt make it bad. you just didnt git gud

How he "didnt git gut" when he got platinum? He did everything game has to offer so he's capable of beating this game. Not like it matters anyway, he can dislike game either way. I too consider Sekiro less fun than souls games, nothing wrong with it.

What a horrible take. Stop forcing yourself to play it if you despise it just to brag. This is a prime example of a dumb fromsoftware fanboy. jesus

Look man, if you hate it that much, why did you go through FOUR playthroughs for the plat? If you did it just on the basis of bragging rights, you live a sad life.

He said it was the worst From game, not that it was a bad game. There are a lot of backwards decisions in this game that they really should have known better considering this is Souls game 6. But he was wrong because Elden Ring ended up being worst of the bunch. Just kidding, Dark Souls 2 is still the worst.

I've beaten every boss in the game and have yet to receive the "Man Without Equal" Achievement. My game also glitched and didn't give me the "Isshin Ashina" so I had to do the Shura ending a second time and got it. I've done all endings and gone through 5 playthroughs, the 3 good endings and the Shura ending twice. The only boss that I haven't beaten is the Shichimen Warrior in Fountainhead Palace, everything else I have beat. Any answers? Do I have to do another playthrough?

You may have to kill the great serpent and/or the great carp if you haven’t already.

My game had the same glitch. I got everything else it just didn't count the Isshin Boss. The worst part is that it counted the ending and just skipped the boss so I have to grind through a whole new playthrough for an achievement I've already earned.

#16825577
It's not a glitch, this achievement requires you to have the memories/remnants of all bosses in your inventory, which means you need both Ashina Isshin from Shura ending AND the bosses that ending locks you out of, so two playthroughs are required. And before you complain, do remember that save backups aren't intended, so if you got all endings and didn't get this because you used a backup for Shura, it's not the game's fault.
