Lol Played my first playthrough in story mode to learn the basics, so you're saying that you dont automatically get resurrect in other difficulty modes?

To the first reply above: Nope, you need resurrection acrolls to revive teammates. Otherwise they stay dead.

Just as a clarification, the damage boost for tactician is additive with str/Dex/int and other similar damage bonuses so it is not as overwhelming as it looks

classic mode AI turns the game so far off the story with having to leave quests unfinished and returned both Arx and the nameless isle are ruined

Seems like Classic is a bit too difficult, yet explorer mode is a bit too easy. I am new to this game though.

classic isn't particularly difficult; the first 4 or so levels will be hard but it gets better (especially with lone wolf).

Yeah, DOS is a pretty unfair game whose difficulty is mainly due to a few key design decisions.
-The convoluted directional progression. You need to know where to go, where & what to fight and which quests to do at any given level without any input from the game, this is especially horrific from Act 2 and onward where the path of progression does not flow with the design of the map. Because of this you will run into enemies that you have no business fighting at your current level (like the scarecrow or alice in Act 2)
-The prevalence of "ambush" type encounters means that you have no way of avoiding bad situations without foresight, which is made even worse by the aforementioned possibility of running into enemies that are far stronger than you in zones where the average enemy is much weaker.
-The often convoluted and complex quests and the game emphasis on XP means that you always miss out on a large amount of XP, which really hurts later because the game expects you be at a certain level in every area.
Don't be disheartened by the dumb comments "classic ez huehue". These people immediately looked up guides, builds, all the quests and so on before starting their first playthrough, which is essentially cheating in DOS because the lack of knowledge is primary driver of diffiulty in this series. Also 2 man lone wolf is substantially easier than playing 4 man parties, some builds much easier than others which explains some of the dumb comments.

honestly i started on classic and i think the game would be a joke if i played on anything else. if you can tplay on classic then obviously you haven't done enough research on builds or like how the game plays.

If you had to research builds then it wasn't a joke for YOU. You just followed someone else and got carried.

some people like to figure things out on their own instead of relying on other peoples information

RESEARCH BUILDS on internet before playing a game? Are you for real? OK Boomer.

Looking up the meta and stating the game would be a joke on anything lower than classic. You are one incompetent little boomer.

Lol, you didn't even play the game. Whoever made the build you looked up played the game for you, and you just played "story mode" and copy pasted whatever the guide told you to do. You're the true result of Government molded sheople, no longer do you think for yourself and just follow what has been corrected before.
