you're honestly meant to 2hand it at 16 str, the one handed moveset is much worse. but it's definitely more of a dex weapon, you can get away with going both 16/40 or 24/40 and leo ring buffs the damage enough

As the other guy said, this was used in both hands to keep the enemy away. Youd Form a deathly wall of pikes with your brothers.

What's the benefit of this? It's two times heavier than spears with similar damage, and uses almost double the stamina to swing. It's barely any longer, and has almost identical scaling. I just can't seem to justify using it over the partizan or plow

It's way longer and it has unque multi-hit R2 and charge attacks
