Not with proper stat investment and skill. The 2H R2 is essentially Wotg with more than twice as many uses and a slightly longer wind-up, so people going for a backstab risk getting themselves wrecked. Also remember this weapon CAN be buffed so the criticals are even more destructive and the 2H-R2's aoe damage becomes even more absurd. With adequate investment for Sunlight/Dark Moon Blade or even as little as Great Magic Weapon with Oolacile Ivory Catalyst this weapon's AR becomes threatening.

Also this is actually a very good weapon for lower SL's. The AR is insane for the lack of Scaling and its most poweful assets are in its 2H-R2 and Poise Break from its R1 moveset, so you can manage with 34 Strength, and some points in End and Vit. You can also go with 16 Int for GMW, Dark Bead, Chamelion, Hidden Body and Hidden Weapon. With these options you can even forgo Vit entirely and go for a stealthy Hypermode glass cannon, hiding in plain sight then unleashing the R2 nearby.

When people equate backstabs, parries, and WotG spam as having "got gud," I have to laugh, because then they meet me with my dinky Crest Shield and Avelyn and suddenly don't know what to do. Removing yourself from the status quo is greatly beneficial, as most people expect every other player they encounter to follow the same tried and true methods, but not to meet someone that can block all their precious magic and deal 350 damage from 25 feet away. I've had someone jump off a cliff when they realized their Power Within + WotG method wasn't doing ****, lol.

I’ve had quite a bit of success using this in pvp. I’ve won a lot of fights due to the shockwave ability. And if you can pull off a backstab, it’s a win.

Bruh in dsr almost nobody uses curved swords except gold tracer, shotel, or furysword. Which two out of those three are barely seen anyway (Shotel and Furysword). At least from my experience.

Ah yes but you must remember, having fun is bad and everyone must always use the same meta as everyone else.

Ah, yes, type only positive things about every single things in this game, or the neurotic dark soups noob will get a PTSD of the time they got spanked. It’s just a weapon you imbecile, and an inferior one at that.

Not only does it require immense STR investment, but also END. The weight puts players at an extreme disadvantage if they equip this weapon, as they'll have to discard their best armor in order to move properly, even with Havel's Ring. I have 70 END, and even with Ring of Favor and Havel's Ring, I still can't wear heavy armor or even a full suit of medium armor unless I abandon my shield. It also doesn't scale with STR, but lies flat at 580 regular attack power, which is typically mitigated to around 350 per swing, not nearly enough to take down an enemy quickly, especially considering how slow this weapon is. It's cool and unique, but definitely not OP and easy to circumvent.
