I one hand a zweihander with a sheild in my other. Its worked for me so far, just remember your attacks are slow and it takes a sec before you can pull up your shield.

The black knight great sword has much better scaling in strength (B scaling) and more stunlocking potential than the black knight sword.

Also the reach of the BKG is miles longer than the BK sword although the BKS is a not faster and a lot lighter coming in at 8 lb compared to the 14 lb monster that is the BKG personally I prefer extra damage and range of the BKG , honestly it mostly boils down to which moveset you prefer when picking between the two since both are pretty good
