Overkill happens when you deal more than 150% hp damage to an enemy and it gives you 20% more souls

As a co-op'ing sunbro (sunsis actually), as far as I observed, wearing this ring as a phantom summoned for a boss battle does give the +20% souls at least to me, but in first place I really hope my hosts receive the bonus as well, can anyone check/confirm this?

Sadly the host doesn't get the bonus, only the wearer of the ring. That's what I noticed on ps4 at least

Says a lot about people that someone can downvote something wholesome like this. Thank you for caring for others

Doesn’t apply so password users can’t join and stack I’d assume. That’d be borderline exploitation lol

Is it just me, or does the titanite drop rate increase when I have this equipped? I'm noticing balder knights and darkwraiths drop titanite almost exclusively when I wear this ring. I would expect the gold one to be the ring to use if you titanite farming though, Maybe it's just cause I farm with the silver one, and just notice drops more?

Does this ring affect how many souls you get from soul items Like boss souls

20% more souls in exchange for only 1 ring slot? I'm only gonna use this ring for farming, that's for sure. Maybe once i "git amazing" i'll use this ring in actual playthrough's. For now though this ring is gonna have to gather dust in my inventory.

Yes %20 is...a humble boost. %30 or %40 would make this ring very good.

That's the whole point of rings. They're situational boosts -- have moderate-to-powerful effects and require no commitment (in terms of equip load, etc.). It's why the penalty of the Ring of Favor & Protection is so steep -- "breaks if removed" means you have to commit to its use in a way you don't have to for other rings. It's a very powerful ring so needs a very powerful cost. Besides that one ring, you really aren't supposed to just be using the same rings all game. There's basically no reason to wear this if you AREN'T farming.

Nope, only the sacrifice and rare sacrifice rings, which in turn make you respawn without losing souls or humanity and the rare version also prevents curse taking effect in case you die to a curse while wearing it

I'm level 180 with nearly 300 hours on my first playthrough. I've farmed a lot. The Covetous Silver Serpent Ring has never once boosted my souls at all. I've tested this thoroughly on many occasions, many times. It does boost item discovery but, not souls. Is there something I'm missing?

Gold Serpent Ring is supposed to boost item discovery. Are you sure you didn't mix those two up?

It says in the description on this page that it increases soul absorption by 20%

I see, there's a gold and silver serpent. I didn't realize there were two rings.
