I am mad at my palico, this idiot yoinked a nergigante gem with the plunderblade our first battle with him. I've yet to kill him

Twice made him limp and cut his tails, then he starts spamming lunge and failed the quest

Back when I played on xbox like 3.5-4 years ago (pre Iceborne), Nergigante's dive bomb would literally one shot me even with the highest level armor and defense boosts, but when I played it on PC years later, half the time it does diddly squat. But everyone's saying it hasn't been nerfed so what gives
