I love my wolf as Ifan, simply for RP purposes, Pet Power really improved it, but really...who thought it was a good idea to make it some so expensive?

3 AP + 1 SP, the SP os obviously ok, but 3 AP is way too much.

Best summon in late game if u use pet power gift bag. Ifan as summoner should ve 20 or more summoning skills in order to maximize the damage output in Definitive edition( acc and armor stats should ve 2 summoning each) due to ****ing stat cap. For summoning strategy: u need high wits to ensure u play in battle first, escape from battle (through teammate teleportation or skills) then buff the wolf from the distance with basic infusions and source infusions(necro fire, necro blood, blessed ice, cursed electric, cursed oil, cursed acid).
U can also use old classic summoning trick by summoning the summon(wolf) before enter the battle but its not recommended cuz u will wasting so much summon(wolf) duration and this skill is source skill after all.
Far out man talent is also needed to ensure u can buff ur wolf without joining the battle.
If u like to cheat, u can consider use supercharger skills and stack them up as many as u want and do insane damage lmao. Just dont use it if u want to play the game fairly

honestly, the use of Gift Bags shouldn't be the "go to" option to make the conjurer/summoning class better.

but, thats just my opinion.

Consider this as a backup plan. Obviously Incarnate is the better summon, but summoners don't have much else on their table if Incarnate gets erased for whatever reason. This ability is, for summoner Ifan, a fine contingency plan, until he gets other summons like Fire Slug. Considering that Summoners often get extra summon past lv9 because they are busy leveling up their summoning ability first, this skill gives fair bit of advantage for summoner Ifan on early games.

It's really lame how Ifan has a cool wolf familiar that the developers decided to make so useless. It has no mobility, as it can't go up or down ramps, stairs, or ladders at all. Has no magic armor so is is extremely vulnerable to getting CC'd immediately, and it cost a whopping 3 AP and a Source point... I just can't fathom why they even put the wolf in the game its terrible. The Incarnate is easily always better in any situation for several obvious reasons, just no need for this useless source skill.

It can defiantly go up/down ramps and stairs. Thats a weird lie to make. It cannot use ladders since, you know, a dog... I do think they could have given a short range leap attack for a small ladder workaround. Given the colossal amount of HP it has (around 3X the incarnate), and having a taunt surely eating CC is it's job. Sure i would've liked to see a more backstab/mobile wolf than tank, defiantly not fun/interesting to use but far from useless

If people's grip with the skill is that the wolf isn't mobile, why not work around it with teleport/nether swap. The game gives you solutions

People who keep saying that incarnate is way better than this don't know what they are talking about. At level 13 with 10 summoning, wolf has more than 1000 more hit points than incarnate and more regular armor. Incarnate only hits slightly harder (less than 20 damage) and has a 132 magic armor. Doesn't even come close to making up for the difference in hit points. If you are playing with the grab bag bonuses you can still buff wolf.

The only area where incarnate is really superior is mobility, namely it's ability to climb up and down ladders. Which really in most fights isn't an issue. That and the fact that wolf requires source points which is still not that bad in my opinion.

Only if the wolf could be buffed in vanila game. Wolf with no buffs is just so much weaker than Incarnate with buffs. Yes wolf can be buffed with mods, but it's hardly a fair comparison because mods can change anything.
