This boss is easy if you know how to roll left

Its a very good idea to use the ENTIRE battlefield to your advantage. When you start the 2nd phase the game places you in that low flat ground area for cinematic effect. But its also easier for gael's attacks to line up properly to hit you here. Fall back and try to fight him on the sand dunes again. The varying height of the dunes can be used to mess with the range of his attacks. Allowing you dodge some of them much more easily.

So just after killing him i found out he is resistant to slash, so I basically did him in hardmode right now doing only half dmg good fight tho

I found out that it was easier dorhys him to his death

This boss is a joke compared to Midir imho, beat him on my first try with Irithyl ss , cathedral great shield and a fire rapier for faster frost cooldown.
