Pretty much the Chinese variant of it. Kinda like how the Japanese version is a naginata.

So frickin annoying literally just fought the same 7 different players wielding this garbage right after Pontiff. All utilizing the glitch, whatever happened to getting good. Seems like a noob weapon to me. This weapon is cancer incarnate.

I hate meta, but at the same time, i really like this weapon. Should I just not spam weapon art? I like honor in my playstyle, but people really seam to hate this weapon. Its also really funny to spin.

You only have to avoid the true combo if you’re looking to use it without being meta. The combo is simply superior to most other things but without it you’ll just have a nice strong aesthetic halberd.

Honestly though why bother. The pvp is based on optimisation more than skill. Use a gesture to show you’re an honourable player if it’s your goal but limiting the strats you use is a handicap and pretty pointless because the ds pvp salt never stops flowing and most people are using whatever is strongest because it just makes sense to do so.

this weapon is a very good utility to have especially for ganks since the running r1s on halberds are very good at roll catching also the weapon art is very good at protecting your sides and back against people who try flanking although don't try to spam the spin move because people will be able to avoid swipes and backstab you it is mostly something you do in small bursts to keep people at bay

Does this weapon have the same sweet spot mechanic that spears and halberds have?

if you mean like on scythes, where the damage is reduced when hit with the staff part, then no. as far as I know, halberds don't have this damage penalty, or damage buff. I'm not sure if this answered your question but hope it helped.

I wish all DLC weapons had some kind of visual effect during the weapon art. Like for example the gaels GS should have a visual effect. Not a damage buff just a visual effect. I think it would be cool if the splitleaf got a purple effect during the spin. also the demon scar should have a cooler, more unique weapon art. I think all of these would be cool but it would be nice to see what other people think about my idea.

In my opinion Gael's weaponart is flashy enough without visual effects, same with splitleaf
