As far as I know, all the stuff not in metal chests, can be brought back with bonfire ascetics, as long as you don't care about raising the difficulty of the entire area. The shield is on a corpse, so it should respawn. There are, however, a few items in the game which will never respawn, and I have not tested any of this myself. Alternately, if you REALLY want another shield (and have friends who play DS2), get a friend to drop the shield when in co-op.

Anyone else noticed that the shield depicts a 3-eyed raven? At first I thought it was a homage to Game of Thrones / A Song of Ice and Fire, kind of like the Dragonslayer Greataxe and Falcon Shield is a homage to The Wheel of Time, but found no such indication anywhere. The shield is one of the contest winners though, so no-one knows but the original designer. I just thought it kind of curious, that Raime who turned from king Vendrick and now waits in a cave deep underground as a protector of Nadalia (kind of like the Three Eyed Raven from Game of Thrones), used to carry a shield with a 3-eyed Raven.

No, while the symbol is a Raven and that Miyazaki is a GoT fan, Raime was the Raven Knight of King Vendrick, and rebelled for a reason that I forgot, but he did lose to Velstadt.

This shield got me through every magic-based encounter back in DS2's heyday I infused mine Dark for 100% resistance so Hexers were shutdown as well. Any other magical encounter was basically negligible because if I remember right it maintains 88.8% resist on every other element/ailment. This Shield is a Godsend!

Yeah, and I remember noobz used to scream about getting OHKO'd by "Great Resonant Soul", and when they were told this shield exists, they complained about being forced to use an item because they couldn't iframe a spell. I had a blast playing the original on PS3, when there was tons of fresh meat to invade and clap.

Pretty beautiful but Shield. The phys defense is a real bummer. For pve, the various resistances are way to unreliable. I want a 100% phys Shield, especially If its as heavy as this and cant parry. I can understand people using thisfor the magic etc resistances but i like to have a single shield and never switch it. Although aesthitaticalley i do consider it.

the best shield to easily overcome the shrine of Amana.
Infuse it with magic to get 100% protection and you can cover yourself from all the priestesses attacks making that area like a cheese
